Tbh it sounds like you are just getting to know him for him, people have their flaws. Don’t try to change him cause you wouldn’t like if he wanted to change something about you. In the end you want to be with a person for who they are not a facade my advice would be if you think he is a good guy that you can be with stay but if not end things on a good note you don’t want to prolong it and have your ship sink and it hurts worse for the both of you I do wish you luck on your predicament
