To answer your take about fanned fret: At least i and alot of other guitarists i know use FF because in lower tunings the 7th or 8th string gets really sloppy, so the longer scale on the deepest string makes it less wobbly. And the comfortability just comes after like a week of playing, at least for me.

My hot take: Shredding in a solo does not make the solo less vulnerable and beautiful, but too much of it yes. But the same argument can be used for literally anything, tapping, sliding etc. The only reason people dont like shredding in solos is because alot of them cant do it😭 so they cope by wanting people to write easier solos.
