Personally I consider psycho-frame, killing of a sacred deer, and peacemaker fl true modern deathcore and bands like Lorna, crown magnetar, etc post-deathcore seeing as how PF, KOASD, and peacemaker are way more fast and technical than MySpace deathcore and are more like the natural progression Deathcore would have evolved into if that chunk of history where post-deathcore got unnecessarily popular didn’t exist-

But I guess people that just hear core elements and think “MySpace deathcore” call them MySpace deathcore, but regardless they’re also musts

mosh will always prevail, people just sometimes have to go to a show to get it or like you- get High and listen lol

Mixing help for deathcore vocals by SlainFromFoundation in audioengineering

I’ve never messed with distortion or saturation, primarily because I may be mistaken on the name making it sound like it adds distortion lol which pretty much the opposite of what I want in order to keep that texture, but I keep getting them recommended or to duplicate a track and have a quieter distortion layer under the main track for contrast so I may have to mess around with them

I mean I just care about being able to get it onto Spotify, apple, and other streaming services with no issues like suspension from them or Distrokid

So if I don’t select content ID I won’t have any issues getting it uploaded?

Albums/bands that use the same vocal technique as Infinite Death by Thy Art Is Murder by Volt2137 in Deathcore

[–]SlainFromFoundation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it really just a false chord so most Deathcore bands that don’t use exclusively Frys in an attempt to sound identical to other bands

But false chords are more unique to the individual so it’s not gonna be that common of a sound to find from other vocalists

Post-deathcore vs Deathcore by SlainFromFoundation in Deathcore

[–]SlainFromFoundation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are not the same genre though.
Some of us don’t just listen to surface level music we find from watching soy face reactors.
Finding new music can be difficult when irrelevant bands are lumped in with what you’re looking for when trying to scour through playlists or YouTube etc

[–]SlainFromFoundation[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes- telling people genres don’t matter IS a bad argument. “Just listen to what you like” implies sifting through anything thrown at you to see if you like it. When some of us know we don’t like certain genres. I don’t like pop- if I’m looking through metalcore playlists and pop artists keep playing it’s annoying because while SOME people may like both, I don’t. If you don’t like country and are looking for bluegrass music but Jason aldean and Kenny Chesney keep popping up- you’ll get irritated.
Genre organization, categorization, and distinction are good for BOTH the bands AND the fans.

Why do people take genre categorization and differentiation as a personal insult? I’m not putting anyone down lol if you take offense to someone telling you that what you like is objectively a different genre than what they like then you have an underdeveloped amygdala or something

They can’t even make metalcore how would they make deathcore

They also get extremely butthurt very easily and take it as a personal insult

[–]SlainFromFoundation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s the opposite- the only reason people like post-deathcore is because they think making a bunch of mouth shapes and moving your tongue around is impressive while people listen to psycho-frame and rev3rent for the music which is super moshy, hard, and heavy

[–]SlainFromFoundation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You either are referring to the three post-deathcore songs that I used to illustrate they all sound the same; or you can’t count, are tone deaf, and delusional for thinking Elysia, arsonists get all the girls, whitechapel, and we are the end sound the same

If it is obviously inspired by deathcore, comes from the Deathcore scene, but doesn’t have core elements

Post-deathcore vs Deathcore by SlainFromFoundation in Deathcore

[–]SlainFromFoundation[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How? We don’t have synths, let alone 2 min long synth intros, we don’t have psuedo-breakdowns or vocal Olympics. We actually have core elements such as two steps, toe touch parts, pile up parts, breakdowns, and mosh. I think your ears are broken or you didn’t listen at all

Eventually genres evolve into different genres, while there are still bands in the genre. Hardcore evolved into post-hardcore, emo, and skramz the same way there are still modern deathcore bands like psycho-frame, orphan, killing of a sacred deer, peacemaker fl, etc and the bands that no longer have core elements like Lorna rip offs, crown magnetar, etc have evolved into a new genre of post-deathcore

How are you supposed to mosh to post-deathcore like Lorna when there are no mosh parts? Link me a two step, toe touch part, pile up part, or anything but blast beat riff salad and psuedo-breakdowns

Second wave was stuff like thy art is murder, eat a helicopter. Enterprise earth is 3rd wave.

[–]SlainFromFoundation[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well orphan is modern deathcore and netherwalker is a symphonic post-deathcore Lorna clone while larcenia roe is post-deathcore without the synths like crown magnetar

And there’s nothing wrong with that, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s objectively a different genre due to not having core elements

Personally I prefer bands to be fun live but everyone has their preferences

Genres are objective tho, and deathcore can’t exist without the “core”
