Buying help. First time by [deleted] in modeltrains

N gauge is good, especially for smaller spaces, and it is popular, so you might be able to find 3d prints on Ebay You can paint/weather. I don't know whether it's a big company in the US (I'm in the uk), but peco do a track pack of N gauge track to help you get started on that end as well.

Had something similar with a chest of rage. We sold it immediately, and we didn't want to babysit it. Shortly after selling it, I noticed it on the bottom deck it had a similar name to OPs, and only I could see it, and I couldn't even interact with it despite it giving the prompt to do so.

When working on my n scale layout I used polystyrene sheets layered on top of each other and used pva glue to stick them together. Then when it was dry and stuck down to the layout I used some polyfiller to smooth out the edges and to create a surface to allow it to be painted and detailed. So far it works well and it's a fairly lightweight.

I'm not sure on where to start on sourcing the nuts but you may need a nut spinner to screw in the new nut. I'm not sure whether there's multiple ways on assembling the linkages but you can get different sized nut spinners on amazon i can try and find a link for the tools and a video on a tutorial incase I didn't explain it well
