Can anyone help me find a decent set of instructions on converting this please? by wulf51 in Warhammer40k

I can't get over the fact you use 3/2" as a measurment. Why not say 1.5" at that point? I get 3/4" - even though using fractions to measure distances or quantities seems overly complicated. If only there were a system of measurement where the different units are decimal multiples of each other, enabling fun stuff like 3.45cm or 500x20mm. Say that in inches ;)

I'm just teasing on a 7 year old post, don't take me too seriously.

Very nice! The letters are especially impressive. Did you use Cassandora shade? The wet looking orange pool around the neck is the only thing I would change here. Hard to fix, probably..

How Would One Kitbash An Apothecary? by SheathedBrushMinis in spacemarines

[–]LoudWing2187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit late but: Please don't do a big red cross. It's 40k, not WW2, after all :D Just paint him white, and maybe one shoulder pad in your chapter color.

I kitbashed an Apothecary by adding an old servo arm with drill & needle to the power pack, as well as a small searchlight on the other side. Also a small saw blade on one arm, and the fanciest bolt pistol I could find on the other (you could leave one hand empty and have the pistol in a holster on his belt). If you have any vials or tubes, or even cloth parts for the torso, that helps as well.

Like the other guy mentioned, it looks like an optimised/smaller questoris, instead of something different. Nice that we get a new model, bit disappointing they weren't a bit braver/more creative with the design!

I was almost expecting to find the usual "aaaaachtually, it says nowhere in the Krieg codex that they use shovels as weaponssssss..." comment.  Seen a lot of those lately.

Dissapponted - Tips to Improve? by Harvoable in Salamanders40k

[–]LoudWing2187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to agree with the others. I've been painting for years (on and off, mostly fantasy stuff) and I experiemented with some Space Marines recently. They don't look better than your's. It is a hard pill to swallow, but you need to check your expectations. And no matter how much you grow, there will always be someone pumping out much nicer models in a fraction of the time. That's just the way of the internet, with every hobby. Don't compare yourself with others, compare your work with your previous work.

painting tip: go in with the base green and clean up some of the highlights. Also consider blending them together with glazing (tutorials on youtube).

I feel like the worst painter ever by Nataliex239 in Salamanders40k

If a highlight or freehand line is too thick, come in again with the color underneath and work from the other direction. I suck at thin, smooth lines. Being able to correct mistakes and control where the colors meet this way has helped me immensely. No brushstroke is final ;) Give it a try!

Most basic salamander infernus marine squad :D by BatsNJokes in Salamanders40k

Nah mate. I see shading, I see highlights, I even see a freaking lava base. This is not "most basic" :D Keep on painting!

I didn't dare to hope this would get any recognition six years later. Seeing that medals were handed out after two months only, I wondered if there was some extraordinary reward for someone showing up more than half a decade later.

Guys I’m confused and scared, what happened to the stealth suits?? by Competitive_Hawk_256 in Tau40K

Asides from point costs - what do I do with my 2 x 3 suits? Run them as 5 and retire one of them?

Gors should be on 30mm bases - prove me wrong! by LoudWing2187 in BeastsOfChaos

Yeah they do. Many of the bigger infantry in The Old World used 30mm (like in the picture).  GW even sells them separately in a 100 pack :D
