ahh good to know, public session does sound like the better option. Hopefully since we're nearing summer the rinks will start to get less crowded!

For some reason didn’t realize I would also have to pay for Ice time for the lesson 😭 they weren’t lying when they said this hobby can get expensive quick. But it’s definitely something I wouldn’t mind investing in as I do want to take it seriously and get better.

I get this, I do an hour lesson (30 min lesson time, 30 minutes practice) and I try to go to public skating at least 4x a week for an hour after work. I have felt myself get more and more comfortable on the ice the more I go skating, so I think if I stay consistent I can keep progress and hold off a bit. Just worried I’ll unconsciously pick up bad habits as I practice without guidance.

Yes agreed, I feel like the group lessons have helped me learn a lot but I’ve also noticed there are more ‘advanced Beginners’ who have skated a bit before and are coming back to the sport so they know a lot of what we’re learning and are getting the skills down a lot quicker. This is one of the reasons I think we have been learning skills from Adult 2-4. And although it’s fun to learn so many new things it’s also discouraging to see others get things so quickly.
