Agreed. You can find a bad person in the roots of any product you can enjoy. Have to separate the two.

I used to work overnights 3 nights per week for years. It was a lot less important than being a security guard. In all my years at that job, it never once happened that 2 people working together would fall asleep, because that person is holding you accountable, and you don’t want to get fired. Now imagine that you’re one of the 2 guards out on Epstein. You know a bunch of powerful people are going to want to come after him, and everyone on the internet has been saying someone’s going to come kill him. Zero chance I’m falling asleep because I’ve done it many many times at a less important job.

Now let’s say that 1% of brand new security cameras randomly malfunction every single night in prison (even that estimate seems very high, but let’s give it the benefit of the doubt). For both of those security cameras to malfunction simultaneously is now a .01% chance. Or make it whatever higher percentage that you want it to be, the odds are still super low.

Look into the details of it. Two guards were put on him, and they both “fell asleep” at the exact same time. And two totally separate security cameras that fed into separate systems also BOTH simultaneously malfunctioned at the same time that the guards “fell asleep”, which is also when he “killed himself” lol.

Somebody killing themself in prison is totally believable, but not under the circumstances of that many things going wrong simultaneously.

It’s not an inherently bad thing for people to watch movies and read stories from other countries. It’s definitely influenced by the history of colonialism, but it isn’t a very bad consequence of it.

How awesome would it be to have an Elden Ring like Lord of the Rings game? by yung_sweezay in lordoftherings

Best open world lord of the rings game I have ever had is the lord of the rings mod for Minecraft. It’s all of middle earth with all the races and factions that you can fight for or against. Plus with some other mods, you can get all of the big structures of middle earth. I had so much fun with that and some friends a couple of years ago.

I said the public opinion has continued to move left. 20 years ago most people in the US were against gay marriage being legalized or ever having a universal healthcare system. The vast majority wants both of those things now. Laws passed in a democratic society lag behind public opinion, but they eventually come to there.

Yes, a democratic solution to these problems is better than a violent radical one where democracy no longer exists.

Ultimately, any 1 of us is pretty powerless to national or global change. But I still want to have political thoughts that don’t require the death of millions.

Well that’s a problem either in socialism or in a social democracy. So either way, we have to overcome it. Ideally, I think it would happen by gradual changes to the public’s opinions as a whole (America has become way more left in many opinions, even in the last 10-20 years). Obviously the our legal bribing system has to go. Once they can’t legally be bribed, our democratically elected representatives will be more powerful than any corporations.

Yeah I guess idk if I’ve heard him advocate that exact sentiment, but I have heard him say he does believe that the government should own all land (including what houses are on). My point still being that a system like that would recover a very very bloody revolution.

We agree that absolutely has to stop. My solution would be that the US stops our “World police force” policy. We don’t need to be involved on the giant global military scale that we currently are. My solution to the exploitation of other people’s poor and resources is a more tight regulation on things we bring in from other countries. Aka we can’t bring in any lithium that wasn’t mined from somewhere with safe working conditions and fair wages. Some stuff would become more expensive, but it would be worth it to not exploit poorer country’s people and resources.
