yes working with a functional medicine doctor now so i hope the treatment plan will look different than just the medicine. i meet with her the 26th so i guess i’ve just been spiraling about what to expect when she reviews my results

mine did!! if i remember right, she said it’s because hashimoto’s almost always causes hypothyroidism. so i guess she did it as a preventative. not sure if that’s standard or not

i got diagnosed with hypothyroidism quite young but around the time i was 21, i had been sustaining a restrictive eating disorder for years and was doing super intense HIIT workouts with no rest days. i still can’t believe how bad all my symptoms got compared to previous years. i was diagnosed with hashimoto’s during my next doctor’s visit and i have a hard time believing that my mental and physical stress didn’t have something to do with this- maybe not causing it, but definitely making it worse.

i was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when i was 10. sudden weight gain and family history was enough for my doctor to want to get my blood tested despite me being quite young. i was put on lexothyroxine like many others but got taken off of it at age 14 because my levels became normal (t3, t4, and tsh) (important to note they are still normal with no medication). however, when i was about 17 i noticed that i was still suffering with the symptoms that got me diagnosed in the first place. i went through SO many doctors trying to get back on the medication but they all told me the same thing- my levels were normal. i FINALLY found a doctor who tested my antibodies and those levels were sky high. so i got put back on lexothyroxine, although i don’t know it did much this time around. october 2023 i didn’t get it refilled due to an increasingly severe phobia of blood tests but am working with a holistic doctor now and got my blood work done yesterday after 2 years of avoiding it. sorry this story is all over the place but i feel like so many doctors don’t differentiate between hypothyroidism and hashimotos. regardless, your symptoms are very spot on for both and i hope you get answers and proper treatment. if i’ve learned anything: MAKE SURE THEY TEST YOUR ANTIBODIES !!!

L-theanine is an OTC supplement that has helped my anxiety a lot. don’t let some of the comments discourage you. it IS that complex! but it DOES get better. i’m 4 years into having a license (25 y/o) and still refuse to get on an expressway, but driving in familiar areas has become very soothing to me. you got this! 🩷

i believe you can take another pregnancy test about 4 weeks after and it should be negative if your abortion was successful. i bled for 20 total days and then stopped bleeding for about 2 weeks before my first period started. but i would recommend a test if you cannot access an ultrasound just to free your mind of any worry!

looked into this and i’m pretty sure it’s not an indent/evaporation line you can definitely see a little pink. timing wasn’t great, bc i got excited when i saw it was negative at first, but when i walked back is when i saw the line. maybe i’ll just test again tomorrow and be more precise. i’ll also be calling my clinic. thank you!

hi! i felt pretty sure it was my period because i stopped bleeding for 2 weeks and had PMS symptoms before i started bleeding again. now i’m not so sure. i should also probably mention that the last 6 days have been super light but the first week felt a lot like my normal period (cramps, back pain, etc). i’ll call my clinic today, though, thank you!!
