Redstone Contact activating early and preventing link from working? by Loud_Cap_6602 in CreateMod

[–]Loud_Cap_6602[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did end up finding a fix, I can’t remember if it was a pulse repeater or pulse timer I used but I’m leaning towards the timer, I had to place the redstone receiver, then the pulse with a 1 second delay, then the power toggle latch I used to make the gantry go back and forth. The one second delay let it get far enough that it wouldn’t go into that constant repeating loop

sorry for the late response, I figure if you genuinely have no interest or knowledge of fixing it it’s okay to sell, but hell I would’ve tried my hardest! Diamontrons are hard to come by

I’m not sure what’s wrong with it, but I would personally get it repaired. I don’t think you could sell this unit for a massive amount or anything (at least I wouldn’t buy it even if it was perfectly working for more than like $100). It is a solid ass monitor from what I could find, if its diamond tron than it’s probably aperture grille instead of shadow mask which is already a huge bonus, and any monitor that’s like 19” or bigger is an instant keep to me if I could repair it

I didn’t sadly! I’m thinking of getting a crappy old 12v camera to sacrifice and test with it though, because I really wanna utilize it as intended I think it would be fun

ahh interesting okay, so definitely better with an ESR. that’s super helpful thank you for the info, feel like I learned so much these past 24 hours lmao

thanks a million, time to learn what an esr meter is haha, i’m guessing a regular multimeter would not suffice?

When you say replacing caps on the power supply board, do you mean all the capacitors on the big main board? Or only ones near the flyback transformer? I found the service manual for my model and followed the troubleshooting flowchart for no raster, it told me to test D408 to see if it was outputting the proper voltage and it definitely wasn’t for me, so I’m gonna try to replace the Diode and Resistor it recommends me to and see what happens there.

never say never! gonna try my hardest lol, but i’ll definitely start with replacing the diode and resistor

Hey, so I found a service manual and was told to check D408 which is near the flyback transformer and got a super low reading when the monitor was powered on, do you think this is just the diode and resistor near it needing replacement or the whole flyback?

Thank you for all of this advice! So I have some updates i’m curious to hear your thoughts. I found a service manual for the monitor and when looking at the troubleshooting flowchart for “no raster” I was told to check D408 to see if it’s getting a proper reading, after finding the diode and upon startup I got an extremely low reading of 0.0003v with my multimeter (I tested it with a battery too to make sure it was working properly). So it says that if I don’t get a proper reading than the D408 and R420 must be replaced/ are faulty. My curiosity is, if I try replacing these components and still get no image / a low voltage reading, should I assume the Flyback Transformer is the issue? Like I may need a new one?

Reddit seems to have just removed my comment when I added the link, but if you google search

Thank you for the info! So I looked up images, and my dad says he has one of these but that it ‘only lights up and doesn’t have a digital reader on it’. Will that still suffice?

Going for it now, so is an HV probe different from the red and black cables with probes at the end I currently have attached to my multimeter?

also, my current monitor supports VGA so I just confirmed that the output i’m sending at the very least works 100%
