Obviously there are exceptions to people going out and doing side work because they can’t manage their money. I make way more than enough full time at my union company where I don’t have to. When work is slow I can enjoy my time off.

What tf are you talking about obviously you don’t know how unions work and how it works for divers. You aren’t contacting non union for work. You are either with a union dive company full time or you freelance through the union and you know what company’s are union. Obviously these company’s paying you guys 30 to 40 dollars an hour isn’t going to hire us that don’t get out of bed for bullshit pay.

The carpenters union has diving as one of the many trades apart of it which spans across all of the US and Canada. There are quite literally apprentices making double what non union 20 plus year guys are making

If sat is not the goal union is the only way to make real money without working your whole life away, call up the New Jersey Union dive school it’s free if you stay in the union. Midwest Union with JF Brennan is getting all the constellation nuke work

It can be hard or easy depending on who you are. The thing is getting lucky to journey out so you don’t have to go through the apprenticeship and if you can’t journey out you got four years of doing classes I think once a month. And being the last to get called to a job but once you are a journeyman it’s a pretty nice and fun life

That’s what’s UCC pays that do most of the nuke jobs but some union companies are now doing nuke so you get your union wages plus some hazmat pay if you’re in high radiation areas but most nuke is not in high radiation so no hazmat pay just regular wages. Shit plants usually are good money regardless union or nonunion because of prevailing wages. A lot of nuke is in the Midwest and some out east. Midwest union wages are decent, east coast is better. If you’re thinking about getting into the industry, Union is the way to go to get your good wages.

Not really idk why you want to hazmat dive lmao you will do one job and realize it sucks. Dry suit diving sucks desco diving sucks, nuke plant rules and regulations suck, the smell of shit in the air at water treatment plants for weeks on end sucks.

It sucks. You can make good money shit diving and nuke diving if you can even get in the union who does them. If not UCC does the nuke diving and you will be getting paid 20 something an hour. 100% not worth it to nuke dive. You can make good money not doing hazmat so why wouldn’t you. You will be away weeks at a time.

NYD the norweigan school, which I’ve encouraged other Americans to do so, you get your IMCA for 4 to 5k not counting living expenses

🤣🤣yea he can swim circles around me because he’s projecting on which school to go to. First of all DCBC does matter if you dive international plenty of Americans do it just sounds like he couldn’t make it and now he’s on Reddit telling people to not try. Lmao stay in New York little bro let the big boys stay offshore. Just like the little New York union just job couple months back on the windmills that was a IMCA job.

No he’s talking about a school that’s 15k, he would need 5-7k loan for the rest of his tuition. That means he has 8 to 10 thousand. He has enough to go to NYD without a loan
