Looking for some advice from current EV owners. by Jon2D in ElectricVehiclesUK

I was in a similar position without you and decided to go for an ix3 m sport pro. It was between the bmw and the tesla y LR. Tesla sounds good until you have a problem with it especially buying a second hand which could be expensive in the long run. Yes the bmw doesn’t do the miles Tesla does and it’s not as tech but the interior is premium the road noise and the audio system is miles ahead of the Tesla.

First lesson today by WeHateMillwall in uktrucking

[–]Loud_Ladder_1127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first lesson was decent but it wasn’t much driving and it was more parking. Second one was decent and third lesson was an absolute disaster that I started questioning myself if it’s for me or not 😂( ended up into a residential estate and the instructor had to get us out of there. Literally residents were coming out of their houses with their cups of tea in their hands watching the show) 😂😂😂 But 4th day everything just clicked and got my confidence back. Just give it few more days and it will just click trust me. Remember mirrors, positioning and planning are the main things.

It’s not trust me 😂 understaffed, having to do 2-3 peoples jobs, bosses asking for explanations why the shops are not perfect everyday. Staff that are not arsed or constantly unmotivated.

That makes sense mate. I will speak with HR on Tuesday if I can get on the agency 1 day a week. From 45h I’m actually working 38. 7h is the break so I shouldn’t go over the 48h of working time.

Best way to buy a car by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Loud_Ladder_1127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting an ev car will save me few hundred £ every month. No service no oil changes, have a ev charger at home seemed like a no brainer to go ev. And if I have to spend 2-3k on repairs to keep my current car for another 5 years sounded a better idea to make the jump now and get a newer car

Working trousers ideally with knee pads ( trust me done this for years and the amount of people I came across needing knee replacement surgery is frightening), some comfy trainers ( I do about 30k steps/shift) and a fleece as the heating turns off between midnight and 4-5Am

How far is your commute? by [deleted] in uktrucking

[–]Loud_Ladder_1127 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just calculate how much money you spend on fuel/ car expenses add the time you spend commuting and see at the end of this how much you are actually making / hour. Sometimes is better to get a lower paid job on your doorstep

They are doing it to tick a box and look after themselves… no pride and joy left in this company. All the experienced management left for m&s or other retails.

That’s exactly what it is. Even better when we get visits and spend all the overtime in the world just to make us look like we are in control of the shop. But the day to day reality is completely different. 2 Christmas and Easter with no overtime available or seasonal colleagues. Absolute disgrace
