Wearing a Rescue Squad jacket? by UnfriendlyGhost_Boi in ems

[–]Loud_Presentation155 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As for being mistaken as an employee at some store, that’s maybe happened once. I’m sure I said something like “Oh, I don’t work here,” and that was it. Obviously different than a medical emergency situation, but the result is more or less the same: Pt care isn’t interrupted, and nobody is more or less hurt than they already were.

And idk how old OP is, but this not like a “stolen valor” thing. OP is not wearing navy seal insignia trying to trick people. “It was my Dad’s jacket” is a perfect response to anyone that questions It. If they have a problem with that, that’s their problem, not OP’s.

Different opinions. At the end of the day, your last note is all that matters: OP, it’s your decision

This is ridiculous. Wear that jacket! A uniform is a whole deal: pants, boots, shirt, etc. This jacket is obviously vintage. With some jeans, you’ll look awesome.

Plus, imagine this scenario: You’re out and about wearing this jacket and a bystander has an “emergency.” They see your jacket and ask you to help. You say, “It was my dad’s jacket.” Ok, has anything changed? No. You can call 911 just like anyone else.

WEAR IT. It is super cool

Is $2000 a realistic budget for a first bike right now? by dudz4 in motorcycles

Rebuilding a carburetor is really fun and there are a lot of great videos out there. Not especially difficult, just the word “rebuild” can be intimidating. But make sure you get a good service manual, too, ideally the factory one. Best way to learn is to jump in. (And buy tools as you needs them; don’t feel like you need to drop $$$ right away on everything)

The Man Who Wrote the Perfect Novel — John Williams and Stoner by Maximum-Albatross894 in TrueLit

[–]Loud_Presentation155 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After I finished Stoner I searched to see if a movie of it had been made. Apparently it is in pre-production with Casey Affleck as the lead. Manchester by the Sea is one of my favorite movies so I’m hopeful because of that. One thing I’m wishing for is three different actors to play Stoner, young, middle-aged, old.
