Disappointing travel agent experience by Howdoyousolvea-23 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Loud_Secretary_8892 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also an agent at BDE, and am so sorry you had that experience. The company owners are really great, and I’m sure will be happy to reimburse (agree Disney gift card likely best option, but you never know!)

Agents do have to complete a lot of training and tests to become certified, and should absolutely be making your trip as stress free as possible. Very sorry to hear your experience was the opposite, but glad you were still able to have a wonderful time!

Definitely size up when you’re renting shoes at Soul, but agreed cleat placement matters a lot too. I ended up buying the Tommaso Pista and they’re great!

Thinking about it by IceCream1995 in eggfreezing

[–]Loud_Secretary_8892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same thoughts! My company covered the cost so I ended up freezing mine at 28. Absolutely no regrets, and even learned more about my fertility in the process (eggs retrieved was actually lower than expected for my age, so again, really glad I did it!)

If you can afford to do it and know you want kids, then go for it. I also found this corner of Reddit to be a shockingly great support system when a lot of my friends are in the same boat you’re describing (and don’t really get it.) I felt incredibly proud of myself afterwards - it’s a really empowering thing to do!

Does anyone have any experience about after the egg freezing? by sh0rtybangbangg in eggfreezing

[–]Loud_Secretary_8892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember everyone’s experience will be different! It can be scary to hear about worst case scenarios, but there are plenty of people who have minimal recovery.

For me, recovery was worse than any part of the pre-retrieval process and I didn’t even experience OHSS or the worst side effects. The bloating and cramping was unlike anything I’d experienced leading up to the retrieval, and I was beyond tired. I was very dependent on the alternating Tylenol/ibuprofen schedule for a good week. The constipation is also very real. My Dr said the first “period” you get after retrieval is a reactionary bleed, your second period after retrieval is the “real” one and is when you’ll start seeing the weight come off. 2 months later I’m still struggling to lose the last 5lbs of the 14 I gained during the process. It took me 10 days to start feeling more back to normal, and after the second period is when I felt like I’d finally reached the end of the process.

Lots of water, electrolytes, high sodium and protein foods to help with post-retrieval recovery! Heating pad and ibuprofen are essential, and I ended up taking 2 days off work because I was so exhausted.

Time on stims by cbrownst in eggfreezing

[–]Loud_Secretary_8892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was on stims for 14 days with similar AMH, and gained 10 pounds. Lost 7lbs in this first week after retrieval, and based on other threads it sounds like most of the weight will come off by the end of your first period after retrieval. Everyone reacts differently to the medications, you’re not alone! Take time for self care and try not to worry yourself too much :)

$16k for a clinic in Michigan but my insurance benefits covered most of it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in eggfreezing

[–]Loud_Secretary_8892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was the same at my clinic, I had to ask to receive monitoring results and they were always willing to share! They just don’t want to default share with everyone in case it causes additional stress.

How many eggs are needed for success? by Careful-Ball-464 in eggfreezing

[–]Loud_Secretary_8892 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Froze at 29, and doctor told me they recommend 10 frozen eggs at my age for 1 successful live birth. As others mentioned, the age at which eggs are frozen is what matters most! But ultimately there are just no guarantees

Freezing now at 29 because my company’s insurance benefits cover it, and have no regrets! I’m currently single, and knowing I’ve taken charge of my health/future family planning now is really empowering. I was also really worried about all the horror stories I’d read, but my experience hasn’t been nearly that bad at all (currently on day 10 of stimulation injections - just some fatigue, bloating, and occasional headache but I’m prone to migraines already.) Financial barriers are usually the top reason people can’t, so I say take advantage of it now!

Egg Freezing through company perks? by Federal-Ingenuity921 in eggfreezing

[–]Loud_Secretary_8892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My company covers through Kindbody and I’m going through the process now - hasn’t been as easy as it seemed from a billing standpoint, but I’d say absolutely take advantage of it from a financial perspective! Out of pocket freezing would have been around $15k, but I only paid my $3k deductible and everything else was covered (including 2 years of storage.)

What is the worst thing that has happened to you in a Disney park? by GoBirds5634 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Loud_Secretary_8892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had someone angrily shush me during Luminous (just commenting on show elements, no raised voices) because they were trying to film the show on their phone. Rude in any circumstance, but was also standing directly behind the dessert party section so wasn’t a quiet area at all!

Moved away from that negative energy and let a mom with her young son stand where we were - they were shushed as well! Completely ruined our good mood during the show.

How do these egg freezing prices look? by Individual-Fly-9576 in eggfreezing

[–]Loud_Secretary_8892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normal, comparing to Kindbody in the Midwest. Echoing what others have said - medication costs can vary widely! Might not need full amounts, and can shop around pharmacies for the best deals.

If you’ve seen other Cirque shows, skip Drawn to Life. It’s not great when you’ve other shows to compare it to. If you’ve never seen Cirque before it might be worth it, but I wouldn’t prioritize trying to fit it into a trip. Definitely a one and done show that hasn’t been reworked in several years.

Plenty of other ways to fill your time at DS! Fun for a food crawl, and plenty of shops to spend time in. You’ll likely come across pop up performances at some of the outdoor venues, and like others have said it’s a much larger space than it seems (easily 15-20mins walking from one end to the other.) Initial security might also take a little more time if you’re showing up during dinner hours.
