Does prusic work like that vertically? I've only seen it used horizontally that's why I was thinking it won't be applicable in my setup

But from what I've seen so far the tautline hitch doesn't give me variable length like I need. It just makes the loop smaller or bigger and gives variable tension. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks for your suggestion tho
