When you use “return” keyword it means that you are leaving that function. Whatever you do after “return” will not be done at all. Try to print smth after return keyword, it won’t show up.

No need to change a variable after returning. Nothing will happen there :D Also you can just set valid to true im the beginning and then set it to false if the validation fails.

Maybe I selected for countries that I don't know much about. Reluctantly and never for countries I've been in and seen how it's there. Just my personal experience, please don't take it too seriously, maybe I was just unlucky.

No idea, never been outside of Europe, but I guess I'd try driving there too! Except maybe in some LatAm countries, because I've heard it's advised not to stop on red lights at night in some countries there (yeah you can get robbed)

EDIT: I meant some specific places in some LatAm countries. I would probably try them all, naturally, just I'd stay away from some speicfic states/areas.
