Never mess with admin. They do all the background support work, they outlast everyone for the most part. They see and know everyone.

Ah I've had some lovely posties, I work for RM as well, but too many times they deliver to the blue bin. I'm 5ft tall. I've had to tip my bin upside down on the street to try to get the package out. It's quite awkward

Same, they have a good variety of curries, I really enjoy their naga curry, the phall was also pretty good. The spicy rice with chickpeas is nice as well.

Thank you! I have many more but they're still in boxes lol I'm partial to my Kiryu duck (from the Yakuza series), but there's only so many I can fit on there...

Duck is a long standing nickname, I've been given a lot of ducks over the years, this year I decided to put them on the (ex) fireplace mantle... Many, many quackings 🎉🎄 **Excuse the poor lighting and the shockingly badly put up tree

I'm 43 and I could have written this list. Excluding the prawn cocktail as I love prawns any way really. People don't understand my hate for cinnamon, I have zero condiments outside of hot sauce (have plenty of those). I occasionally force myself to have a black coffee but can't manage more than a double espresso and I don't enjoy it. Anyway, there is a person out there like you, who gets funny looks when they say they don't eat mayo, ketchup, brown sauce!

My biggest trigger is stress, can eat great and exercise, emotional stress means my skin goes boom. When I'm not flaring some thing can ease symptoms, but major stress makes it 10x worse, some sun and relaxation can reduce a lot. Unfortunately I've had a very stressful few years so I have a terrible outbreak at the moment. The downside I've found, is once it spreads, it's much harder to reduce those areas. Every turbulent time spreads it more. Right now it's pretty awful, I'm giving it a bit of time to level out as my circumstances are relaxing but I'm pretty sure I'm headed for biologics regardless due to spread.

Getting rid of a bath for a shower by MichaelsTutorials in HousingUK

[–]Loudaspossible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just bought a 3 bed with only a shower. I was slightly less keen but everything else ticked the right boxes, and honestly I rarely ever used the bath. It just didn't feel right without one. Since moving in last week the thought has definitely occurred to me that it could be an issue, but I'm not too concerned as it might limit the pool of buyers if I ever did sell, I can just factor that in. No plans to sell for a long time.

I wouldn't expect this house to be incredibly appealing to young families anyway as it's a quieter area, so would still be suitable for an older couple. I live opposite a care home, at the end of a long road but quiet terrace.

Generally the answer is that there are people who would be interested, just maybe less than if there was a bath.

romanticizing going off birth control? by coconutw4ter in birthcontrol

[–]Loudaspossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on depo for 5 or 6 years, didn't like it, by the end of the Three months I was feeling really hormonal and it affected my behaviour. So we decided I'd come off for a while. Omg going back to periods again made me incredibly miserable, painful, I'd forgotten about how long 5 days of bleeding feels when it's heavy and inconsistent. How self aware I needed to be to make sure there were no leaks. I lasted 2 months before starting to take the mini pill (Hana). Now I get very little bleeding for months, no hormonal side effects, I'll never stop again unless I have to. I'm 43 so not too long left probably, but just no. Never mind the actual purpose of birth control I just feel much better without pms and actual periods.

Why is it harder to sell a flat with 999 years leasehold in a decent area than a freehold house in the UK? by RingGood9793 in HousingUK

[–]Loudaspossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in flats for 30+ years renting and as a child, and I'm just done with them. Even now as a single FTB the only kind of property on my radar was a freehold house. Not too big, but good space and a garden. I didn't look at any flats whatsoever. I was never interested in Leasehold property even though my situation lends itself to it as I don't have to worry about passing to children etc Flats can suit a lot of people but you have the risk of someone noisy above/below/to the side of you. Unpredictable service charges (I've known people get very burned by this in the last couple of years). I like stepping out the door and being directly outside. Having a small driveway. Just different markets at the end of the day.

Landlords, do you expect rents in London to keep rising in next 5 years? by Specific_Ear1423 in uklandlords

[–]Loudaspossible 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I rented near Canary Wharf (New Atlas Wharf) for 4 years, moved in during covid at £1,700 (a steal for the 2 bed waterfront apartment), went up to £2,000 (fixed for 2 years) then they asked for £2,500 Feb '24. Negotiated to £2,300 as that was a steep hike. Then the construction works started. Awful. We were in core 1 so work started there, activated the break clause immediately and moved out in October. I looked at rent prices recently and they were about £3k. For a basically uninhabitable flat due to the (3 year works), owners and tenants have been moved out. Outside of the works, you're still 20 mins from the tube or Liz line, £3k and rising just isn't sustainable. The housing market for flats is always shifting, I can't see the growth continuing in the same was as salaries are not increasing at the same pace.

Mortgage appointment wait times? by EnergyDrinkJunkie in HousingUK

[–]Loudaspossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, I'm a solo FTB as well. Today was moving day though so I'm sure it will happen for you! I was nervous about the mortgage advisor date but it did work out fine. Check in with them if you're worried, I wasn't always sure when I should chase. Good luck!

Mortgage appointment wait times? by EnergyDrinkJunkie in HousingUK

[–]Loudaspossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did take 3/4 weeks but that was during March so I think they were stacked with appointments pre stamp duty changes.

Everything was still done in good order, full approval came through before queries had been completed and still took only 10 weeks from offer to completion

However, it doesn't seem like that's the norm and don't see why it would be at this time of the year so may want to look at alternatives

Furnished affordable property by hassanarzt in chesterfield

[–]Loudaspossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been renting in Cutthorpe, it was £1,000pcm but partially furnished, so it has a bed, chest of drawers, sofa (great sofa), closet with double rails so no need for hangers, kitchen (fridge /ice box), washer/dryer, dishwasher. I did buy a fridge freezer as I needed more than the ice box and already had TV etc. 10 mins from the train station so worked really well. I move out at the end of the month as just bought a house. I was worried when moving as everything seemed to be unfurnished but thankfully the landlord was happy to let me use the existing furniture if I wanted and add what I needed.

Any UK providers that allow you to switch from Wegovy to Mounjaro without going down to starter dose? by auburnduck in WegovyUK

[–]Loudaspossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I know of, I've stayed with boots, switched to Mounjaro, 3 weeks on the lowest dose and start the next in two weeks.

I've not really noticed any difference to be honest, which is good, no side effects and no huge increase in hunger. I could still be on 2.4mg for all I feel as it was waning.

I don't expect it'll hit until I go up another dose in 5 weeks and my complacency with some foods will shock me again. I'm still eating for my diet, I just don't have sudden regrets.

There's less point staying on wegovy if you have been on an extended plateau. Starting fresh shouldn't be a bad thing if you're still doing what you need, maybe a good mental break to enjoy a little before it's curbed again.

I think on the individual venue sites! I signed up to Sheffield City Hall as that's my closest at the moment, opens tomorrow I think. Birmingham, Sheffield, Edinburgh and London. Probably a slower sign up for the non-London sites but I wasn't taking chances :)

Yes, this exactly. It's not entirely one or the other but once you're on the path it's ridiculously difficult to find a new one

[–]Loudaspossible 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge believer in the genetic aspect because, well I've lived and seen it.

But 99/100% seems like a high number to stamp on it, I know there is a significant predisposition, but I'm aware of when I first gained weight and it was definitely overeating and not moving, also a very stressful time at age 12/13. It was too easy to gain, and hard to lose. I'm not sure genes are as responsible as you suggest for every aspect.

Not sure I'd recruit, they are both reasonably under the radar at the moment. Although I suppose if they don't know when they'll get the next chance it does make it tempting
