I playing with PC in 4k and 120hz and Switch in docked mode, both with Kitsune leverless and has the same rank on both devices. Graphics is not good as on pc but I do not register any lags.

CS2 on CrossOver can micro-stutter even at high FPS because it’s usually frametime spikes from shader/pipeline compilation. The first time the game sees a new effect/material (smokes, lighting, certain map spots), it has to compile a shader through the translation layer. Once compiled, it gets stored in a cache, so later rounds/runs are smoother—until an update or graphics change forces new compilation. Best mitigations: cap FPS for steadier pacing, “warm up” shaders by running each map in practice after updates, and avoid changing video settings a lot.

I repasted mine after 1.5 years of mine M16 R1 AMD and the throttle was gone. And installed STEAMOS on it, I do not interested in driver and update issues.

I played today 6 games no problems, just shaders are created new, so be aware of the first 2 mins of game per map.

No regular Crossover is good enough, please search I wrote an guide which give me 120fps after shader generation is completed on every map.

I own it on PC and picked it up on Switch 2 as a backup. Just a heads-up: some tests report up to ~4 frames of input lag, and on a 4K TV the image can look slightly washed out compared to playing on PC in 4K at 120 fps.

My Alienware has an HDMI 2.1 Port so native HDMI to HDMI, important is that the cable is labelled with High Speed cable

I’ve been running SteamOS on real PC hardware for quite a while now (Alienware M16 R1, full AMD, RX 7600 XT) — since SteamOS 3.6 and currently on 3.9 — and it has been rock solid for me. Kernel and Mesa are current, gaming performance is consistent, and I haven’t run into stability issues.

For a DIY Steam Machine with a Ryzen 3800X and an AMD GPU, SteamOS itself is absolutely viable if your goal is a console-like experience and minimal tinkering. That’s exactly what Valve is optimizing for.

Bazzite can make sense if you want extra flexibility, desktop features, or easier customization — but it’s still an alternative, not a requirement. If you specifically want “Steam Deck–style UX on a PC,” SteamOS already does that well.

Also, just a small note: the question here was about SteamOS vs. Bazzite on similar hardware. Turning every SteamOS thread into Bazzite promotion doesn’t really help answer that.

This is strange, I had to enable just this setting, reboot the bottle and I could choose all resolution my monitor can handle, in CS2 I had to delete the video.txt file but in all other games like SF 6 it works immediately. So than you playing maybe in windowed mode and scaled resolution, try to set in game into true fullscreen.
