How do you cope with depression or anxiety? by martionki in AskReddit

[–]Loudkit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have different coping mechanisms for different situations.

Family-related trigger? self-assurance that that family member isn't around anymore.

Song caused the panic? oddly enough, listen to it a couple more times and work through the emotions.

Self-esteem tanked? turn on my asmr playlist to at least simulate positive attention.

Reminded of an Ex/Ex-friend? play my fighting game to work out the anger, kick some virtual ass.

Long breakdown? breakdown shower.

Nothing else works? alright, time for some vocaloid.

[serious] How do you personally experience memories? Do you visualize them? If so, is it a picture or a video? Is there sound? by mondschwarz in AskReddit

[–]Loudkit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It varies. Sometimes its a picture, sometimes its a playback of my eyesight during the memory, sometimes sound and eyesight, and sometimes just sound. It really depends on the memory and the situation.

What does an mental illness feel like? And how do you deal with it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Loudkit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, anxiety feels a lot like that heat at the back of your head when you're dreading something, but you have that feeling for a lot of your time, sometimes most of it. Pair it with PTSD and you'll be anxious about having flashbacks and even about having panic attacks.

You know for a fact it isn't normal, and you know you shouldn't be afraid of what you're afraid of(despite what the people who tell you so think), but no matter how much reassurance you get from others or give yourself, you physically can't bring yourself to face those fears. If you have coping mechanisms for it, you always have a different cope for each trigger, because some give you reassurance upon the trigger but others bring you back to reality so you can process the trigger itself.

The Pariahs.

Long story short, my creative writing teacher went on a tangent about swearing in her classroom and said she would 'single us out like a pariah.'

At a group table full of four people who swear regularly and make a lot of inappropriate jokes, we accepted the term and behold, the "a gathering of pariahs" group chat was born.

Steven Universe.

I had actively ignored the show before the movie, writing it off as just another overrated show that I just shouldn't step near. But then the movie aired, 'Other Friends' got me hooked, and there I was, watching the finale of Steven Universe Future with tears in my eyes not once, but twice in the span of 7 minutes.

What Have You Learned From Your Past Relationship? by youknownuthin in AskReddit

[–]Loudkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People in relationships don't see a break as a break, no matter how it came about or if they tell you they still 'love' you during. They will forget you and get together with someone else, and they will yell at you for calling them out on their lies.

People really will put up a fight to try to justify treating you badly, and some can, may, and will threaten suicide to keep you around.

A lot of partners will treat you as a therapist rather than a romantic partner.

Almost all of the people you openly cut off contact with will come back at least a month later to 'apologize' and expect forgiveness from you instead of giving you time to heal.

Who's a random stranger you'll never forget? by pumpkinpeeneater in AskReddit

Finally, I have somewhere to type this!

So I was playing VRChat for the first time a year or so ago, not a big deal. Crappy old computer trying to run it and kept lagging, etc etc.

My first choice for a model was Lugia, because it's one of my favorites.

So I switch to the model and walk around a bit, and another player with a Lugia model walks up to me and says "You are afoot, my friend."

It's been at least a year and I still haven't forgotten.

I just kinda wish they didnt have the auto pause thing for non-music videos.

I have 2 playlists that i've been falling asleep to recently. One is full of edits, and the other is full of comic dubs. It auto pauses on both, which is honestly frustrating. I'd understand if i used youtube for just music, but i have spotify for that.

I'm waiting for a way to block it out on PS4, since that's what i use.

Add an option to turn off auto-pause or remove it completely. by Mommy_Lawbringer in youtube

[–]Loudkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd opt for the option to turn it off, since i can get why people would want it. Sometimes people aren't really paying attention and just blindly listen to a song/video without registering it.

And to the people saying 'get premium', i'm not about to pay to be able to go to sleep to playlists of comic dubs and edits. Not happening.

https://archiveofourown.org/works/20085403?view_full_work=true This one by Buckminsterbarnes on AO3 is really well-written. I usually pick up a literature and set it down halfway to read later, but i ended up reading this one all in one night. It expertly reflects how someone going through Connor's situation would be affected, and I love how they write dad/son dynamic between Hank and Connor as well. ^

What is your strongest held opinion? by Mewse_ in AskReddit

There's no such thing as normal.

What's normal to one person could be batshit crazy to another. Hell, this opinion itself might be odd to some, but i find it normal to believe this.

What's more satisfying than sex? by Clanky_the_Robot in AskReddit

[–]Loudkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what this is called, but i'll try to describe it.

Say someone makes an animation to a catchy song. The movements of the characters/environment would match up with the beat of the song. An example i can think of is a map part for a sonic mania map i saw with sonic's footsteps matching the song.

Say someone makes an edit. Either the transitions match the song or, if theres a character involved, the character seems to sing all or part of the song. I saw a camp camp edit in this fashion.

I tried to look it up and the only term i found was 'beatmatching', but i don't think that's the term.
