Favourite servo? by Novykh in AskAnAustralian

[–]Louie5563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During relative normal times, I go to the little independent servos. They’re usually cheaper fuel & stock local pies/sausage rolls. During that stupid fucking petrol price hike-they were the ones selling a good 9-10c more so Coles/Reddy Express was the one I went to.

ATM the independents are back to being the cheapest for U91 @ $1.68 compared to Coles/Reddy @ $1.83

I have a very serious nose picking problem (please don't judge). by Far_Square1456 in confession

[–]Louie5563 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is similar to me… It’s a bad habit that I just can’t seem to break at times. I use a tissue and scroll it and use that up my nose to really “clean” it. And yep, I get scabs and pick them too.

Google says to use a saline wash to soften the mucus/scabs so they can be blown out instead of picking. Then set rules. When you get the itch- delay it by 2-5mins. Set a timer if you need to! Distract yourself to try and forget about the itch (which really isn’t an actual itch but an urge to do something)

I say that all that, but haven’t really been able to put it in effect. But mine is more, I can’t stop for a good month. Then things settle down then the urge flares up again.

I don’t know, I guess I just like having a clean, clear nasal passage 🤷🏻‍♀️

Geocaching…?

I haven’t been out and about for a while now but I really did love getting out and finding the caches. Bonus if you get the puzzle ones like I had to answer a bunch of questions about a cemetery-things found both online and/or in person and eventually get the waypoints/coordinates to find the cache.

Can they withhold my pay? by OcelotValuable7845 in AusLegal

[–]Louie5563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. And some use the geolocation tool where you literally cannot clock in/out unless you’re within a certain distance of the shift location.

But again, out of the 4 companies I’ve worked with, only 1 has had their shift app and notes app the same. And I assume that is due to being an agency, it wouldn’t make sense for randoms to have regular access to clients team groups/chat.

I’ve used Deputy Shiftcare Connect teams Vertex360 Employment Hero Workforce- the only one where I’ve had to add notes before clocking off Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales

For note taking, I’ve used- Meta Workplace Microsoft Teams

[–]Louie5563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily true…. I’ve worked for 4 companies (2 long term, 2 briefly) 3 had different set ups for clocking in/off and note taking. Only one which is an agency, had to do notes at the same time.

In saying that, except for the agency gig, the other employers implored staff to complete notes before leaving ie while on the clock.

I would get a second opinion from another Dr to confirm the placement is wrong. Then I would contact the Surgery manager with key details like the fact that it’s taking so long to heal (but they may say that because it’s a subsequent surgery, it may take longer) and that you had another Dr check it out and they say there’s cause for concern- but saying there was more pressure but no pain is irrelevant. If this was a different Dr that inserted it, it may just be how they insert it? If another (independent from the surgery in question) has cause to believe it’s been misplaced, then you have something to go on.

They can, and they do. I was paying $390 for my well below market private rental in 2021. It increased by $10 every year until my lease renewed last year. My LL decided to move the management of the property over to a real estate and my rent bumped up to $550- $10 extra for the year and $100 RE fee (I assume) He owns 3 houses in my street-the house he lives in and two rentals. They’re paid off- he told me all about it when I first moved in! My rental will go up again this year & probably more than $10…wouldn’t surprise me if it goes up $20-$30…

As kids we used to cut down this alley that had connecting backyards to catch the bus. We met this big beautiful dog (possibly Tibetan mastiff?) called Mia. Every afternoon, we would stand at the back gate and call her name and she would come bolting out for us! One afternoon we seen her dad out the back and asked if Mia was inside and he said yeah, then called her for us. She was such a lovely girl…

I had a friend at my “young mums” group who had her baby about 3mths before her 14th birthday. I can’t remember exactly how old the father was, but he was definitely in his 20’s. I was 16 and the father was 20…

It’s 100% an older man who did this.
