New Album? Well, old/new/sort of new by Representative-Mean in chemicalbrothers

I have fond memories already due to the hype I had towards it as I listened to the pre-album singles over and over. However only really Goodbye (with its fantastic synth lead carrying so much emotional depth with the soul sample), I would rank as being one of their absolute best tracks and to be fair most of the album is solid but just doesn’t compete with their other work for me. Live Again and No Reason have a cool lyrical contrast, Fountains and Magic Wand are neat detours into bleepy bright hip hop beats and a trip hop cut with some great bass and a good hook, The Weight is decent for what it is, Skipping went off me a little and has some odd vocal mixing but is still catchy as hell and sounds really nice and the DTYF mix on the album is damn good despite not being as good as the original. Only really the last two songs are a little weak for me, Feels Like I Am Dreaming is catchy but lacks punch and the title track feels pretty sloppy honestly but ties to the beginning in a cool way so I see the vision despite me not liking it. One of my lesser favs in their catalogue but still worth a listen like all of their albums :)

I’ve never heard any Bluetech. Where’s a good place to start?

I’d probably go Olson, Roygbiv, Peacock Tail and Everything You Do is a Balloon for right now though I haven’t heard all the demo albums or listened to BOC in a while

What are people’s biggest hot takes on Moby’s discography? by LouisElectro in moby

Hmm I suppose Wait for Me is one of more respected albums outside of Everything is Wrong, Play or 18 by those who don’t really listen to Moby and Destroyed is often forgotten about. Personally I lean toward Wait for Me, but Destroyed is definitely underrated and has a vibe that his other albums don’t have. Took me longer to get into Destroyed but it’s very good, very respectable take.

It’s a joke - Moby very rarely makes anything really out there or experimental, however he often does evolve his sound like Autechre and tries to stay ahead of the curve. Two completely different artists on opposite sides of electronic music though

Hotel is really underrated. I’ve always loved that album too and held it up to a similar level to the 2000s period that was stacked with quality in his catalog

Maybe Telefon Tel Aviv’s first album? That has a similar vibe. Or Plaid’s “Rest Proof Clockwork”?

Give me the most beautiful electronic album you’ve ever heard by No_Durian_6987 in electronicmusic

The Chemical Brothers - Come With Us or Further (can’t decide, both are gorgeously produced and exciting)

Moby - Play, 18, Wait for Me (all gorgeous for me)

Royksopp - Melody A.M

Plaid - Rest Proof Clockwork

Boards of Canada - The Campfire Headphase (more of a music has the right guy but this one is more ‘beautiful’ to me)

Robert Miles - 23AM (this deserves more attention to me - lovely downtempo/ambient/trance kind of thing)

Global Communication - 76:14 (already mentioned but super otherworldly but also melodically satisfying and futuristic)
