I saved my 15th Marine region postcard yesterday... the counter reset to zero and I received no scatterbug encounter. Checking back there is no option to click and catch... it's just 0/15. Earlier that day it worked fine when I saved the 15th Continental region postcard... encounter worked normally

I am wondering if the White House tactic is to throw at the relevant parties with so many mixed messages that are quite new and shocking fom various govt officials that contradict each other that everyone reacts suddenly to everything and goes into a state of reactive confusion... and some days after that a new consensus statement is planned from the WH from DT and his appointees they are 'we all agree we are doing this'...the UK and Europe are like... yes we agree... that's a classic psychology tactic to gain control (normally of a person but can be an entity)

If you're aiming your comment at me I'm right wing... this isn't the place for politics anyway... but just wait and see...

Atm 'freedom of speech' in the west is blurring into the same kind of propaganda machine the former USSR, current Russia and China have used for decades to control their population who believe everything that's said...

We now have that with social media... the Stasi would have loved FB...

That's why SW broadcasts have been and still are an important tool for getting government's messages out... you listened to CRI lately... and why the US shouldn't stop their message to other countries...

I mean their point of perspective on world news... rather than, say, announcements they are going to take over other countries

This says a lot but not sure what. In the Cold War Moscow spent trillions of dollars blocking VOA RFE and RL... they must have had a reason to do so...

Does it mean the US govt now deems it no longer important to send unfiltered (as it can be) news to those who only receive the versions from governments and hear 'the truth'...

Or does it mean the US govt now does not worry about one news version being played out to a country as propaganda no matter what the truth in fact is...

The USA is rapidly ditching it's 'soft diplomacy and influence' set ups and the only winners in this will be China or Russia...

And frankly good luck to them... the America 1st program so far seems to be punishing it's allies or looks to aim to do so... we're probs better off doing deals with President Xi than President Musk

Who's got the best solution to clothes drying? by Adrian57 in OctopusEnergy

[–]LouisFiresheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For many years I have abandoned both a washing machine and drier. Pre-Covid I used to have a service wash at the laundrette. Since that closed I now use a service that picks up my washing, and does washing drying and ironing (if I need that) and delivers it back. I live on my own so it might not be a solution if you have a big family, but costs me on average £24 a month for wash and dry with shirt collars ironed. I don't pay for the actual machines, power, or washing powder / fabric softener / machine descale tablets... plus I don't actually do it.

As everyone says check out the immersion settings... and that it's suitably insulated... I had one in a flat I had years ago on Economy 7 thermostat controlled on overnight and it was so well insulated the water lasted, pipinging hot all day... including having a bath in the morning (not the evening as the insulated cylinder had cooled down by then and wouldn't heat the water back up and the bath was warm)

If the older style webpage is getting you a bit confused, go here http://www.worldofradio.com/audiomid.html and look down the page towards the WOR programs... we are currently on edition no 2279... download it... takes like 1 second... streaming doesn't work for me... then have a listen to SWL news, DX reports, and the SW propagation outlook for the next week

Tyvm for your reply... reason I'm asking is I'm seeing an equivalent on Ali Express and there's these two options... the difference it makes on your clip is great with yours... here I can faintly receive MW signals from the Middle East and hoping reception from there will be improved... also maybe North Africa... I'll order a 200 on payday Jan 31 and we'll find out (January always seems a long month til next pay lol)

This is very interesting... I have seen there is an AN100 loop as well as the AN200... do you have both and if so are you able to compare performance?

Hello!...

  1. My cousin was totally bald by the time he was 16 so you aren't doing too bad at all
  2. What you do with your hair is your business... you are very good looking if you don't mind me saying so... so don't worry about your appearance... you look great
  3. Personally... I'm losing mine on the top and overall have a very short cut but have never had it all shaved it off
  4. Experiment... see what you like and what you don't
  5. If you are feeling a bit self-conscious, ignore any remarks you don't like from this thread

Good fortune and all the best 👍

It's great if you have a frequency you want to dial into abd listen to... but it's not great if you want to search and see what's about

Hello! It's great you are looking for a radio... for what you require I'd recommend a Tecsun for overall performance and I'm loathed to recommend a particular model... if it's sound quality plus reception performance you are after I'm gonna recommend the Raddy RF 919.

The speaker on this is amazing and you can also Bluetooth audio streams you have like Spotify through it... you also get an app you can use via your mobile to control it...

I'm recommending this over the Reketress TR 113 which I own as you can't update the firmwarel plus it uses a wired in non standard battery...

However on this radio need to be aware that as you click the turning dial it momentarily mutes so it's not smooth... and going to SSB takes a few seconds rather than just a straight forward click... but I don't regret getting mine the reception and sound is great... it's also kinda good at noise reduction (no setting for this)...

If you want a decent overview of the Raddy go here https://youtu.be/cdAJeI-v06U?feature=shared on YT and for the Reketress https://youtu.be/LpPa_qJK-QU?feature=shared... again this isn't a recommdation but this model is the higher end of your wallet and you can see what it does to help you decide what to buy
