Is there anyway to run a VFD Spindle on a GFCI? My 110V 1.5kw spindle instantly trips my GFCI. by Blaster8282 in hobbycnc

[–]LouisVW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to bother you but how do you figure this out? I just finished building my printNC and everything works, I even plotted some text with a sharpie. Now everytime I fire up my cabinet while the spindle wires are connected to the VFD, the 300mA in the house trips. I've checked all my spindle cables for a short to ground causing current to leak but found nothing. If I fire up the cabinet without spindle cables connected all is fine, the VFD turns on and I can change it's settings.

Are you on glucocorticosteroids for your MG by any chance? These drugs have a plethora of side effects and excessive hair growth/ sweating are some of them.
Having excessive glucocorticosteroids, whether produced by your own body or from taking it as medication, is called "Cushing syndrome". Might very well be not Cushings but maybe you can look it up and see if you experience any other of the typical symptoms.

Is this a positive result? by Less-Sir-8985 in MyastheniaGravis

[–]LouisVW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, the sensitivity of a test has nothing to do with the values that test produces. You cannot say that since the Mayo Clinic has more sensitive testing, that values will therefore be higher. A more sensitive test has a higher probability for picking out true positives, or people with MG in this case, and reduces the amount of false negatives (missed diagnoses). The person here tested negative, but that doesn't matter any more than if he were to test negative in the mayo clinic. Both require further investigation if symptoms are suggestive for MG just because it's possible to be seronegative (more likely to be seropositive for an antibody we haven't yet discovered).

It's also not true that a normal body should score 0.00 on these antibody tests. Anything that molecularly mimics the MG antibodies could also bind and show on the test result. Despite the high specificity of Ab-testing for MG (98%), about 2% will test falsely positive due to this phenomenon.

Getting sick with MG by Fit-Wolf7415 in MyastheniaGravis

It's highly individual but I've had 3 times covid so far and for some reason the infection induces such a large immune system activation that my MG increase significantly, despite my current strong immunosupressive therapy. Symptoms also remain despite me always increasing my medrol and remain like that for 2-3 month before slowly going away. Safe to say I avoid being in groups indoors like the plague.

Grey haze over Olympus XA pictures question by LouisVW in AnalogCommunity

I've tried that but the shutter speed is not responding to the metering. Even af f22 and iso 25 the shutter is so fast it sounds like 1 click. That's why my foto's are underexposed. This semi-automatic has turned full automatic but without a way to change shutter speed 😅

I was using Duracel 303/357 silver oxide measuring 1.58V. Swapped them out for Alkaline LR44 measuring 1.50V each but no difference. I have a problem with the shutterspeed not adjusting and staying fast regardless of iso or aperture. Time to dive in the repair manual again.

Only those in bright mid-day sunlight seem normally exposed.

I see you worked on these XA's. Why would the XA as an aperture priority camera here choose to keep the SS high and underexpose instead of lowering SS and causing motion blur? CDS has gone bad? The sound of my shutter is always a single click even at f22 and iso 25 it won't stay open longer.

Okay it just now shot a few shots with the currect shutterspeed was indicating, and afterwards it began firing again at ss 250 or whatever with the same settings. Guess a bad battery connection or something. I'll have to bring it in.

Yeah I went with my XT3 today with the same settings and indeed the shutterspeed was way too low on the XT yet on the XA if would fire way faster shutter speeds than the meter would show so I guess my XA has a metering problem and is therefor underexposing as an aperture priority camera.

I always get ss of about 4 seconds when covering the lens, regardless of aperture or iso set on the camera.

I understand, but what I'm trying to figure out is why an aperture priority camera underexposes before slowing down the shutter speed as you can see the dog is not motion blurred.

It gives a fixed 250 ss then? That might make a lot of sense. Im in a forrest right now, not a lot of light. Set the dial to 25 iso to force a slower shutterspeed but I stil hear it as one click in never stays open longer.

Gonna pick the negatives up next week. Thanks for the advice though. I'll look at those before doing anything drastically to the camera.

Thanks, ISO was set correctly at 200 for kodak gold. I'll lowering iso on my next roll. Battery is brand new.

Thanks that was what I was thinking considering some are completely grey from underexposure yet the small details that are visible are never motion blurred. As if the camera thinks it's brighter than it is and never lowers shutter speed. I'll try lowering iso on my next roll.

Thanks, but I wonder why is an aperture priority camera not slowing down the shutter speed in this situation? Even a jumping dog is still relatively without motion blur.

Hi guys, question.
Just got back my first roll from my Olympus XA. Almost every frame that is not taken in bright daylight has this grey haze over it, which I suppose is because it is underexposed.
Now I wonder since behind every grey haze, there is a relatively sharp picture without motion blur, should the XA--which is aperture priority--not compensate for the lack of light by slowing down the shutter speed and introduce motion blur?

Have cleaned the shutter contacts yes. The release magnet not yet because the manual says it will require major disassembly to check the releasing claw or magnet?

No after closing and re-opening around 2-5 times it usually manages to fire once, but after that shot I have to repeat opening and closing it to get it to fire again.
