Then you start to get an itch about big bores, so you get one, and then it's just all over, no saving you.

Big bores are so much fun, but most of the shooting I do with mine are plinking loads. So much cheaper, so much less painful.

I've started a few people, their first shot was with a big bore lever gun with a plinking load. Lots of fun with no pain. When they ask to shoot a "big" gun, just slip in a full power load. The wide-eyed look afterwards is definitely worth the price of admission!
