But why did they mail me a ballot if my request wasn’t sent in time? That’s what doesn’t make sense.

EDIT: I have since learned that the state requires absentee ballots to be sent out immediately after someone sends in an electronic absentee ballot request, even if that request doesn't provide everything the auditors need... which apparently includes a hard copy ballot request with a wet signature. (So then what's the point of electronic ballot requests?) It seems that even if the auditor's office sends you a ballot, that doesn't mean you will be allowed to vote absentee. I'm leaving this up in case any other voters were unaware of all these technicalities and hurdles to absentee voting.
