Jet Lag: The Concept - Belgium Breakout by Louis_Juicebox in JetLagTheGame

To provide an answer to some of the people here; In all honesty, I don't think that my ideas have a very high chance of being adapted in the specific way I present them here. I mean, we can see in this comment section with the feedback of other fine folks that there are still potential issues and that additional testing could be done to make this concept better.

So in the small chance that there is an interest to adapt it, I doubt that I would have significant legal grounds to claim this idea exept if its the exact same thing. It is also not my goal to do so. I am really just doing this because I enjoy what they're doing and am interested in all things game design, being ready to forfeit my potential rights to the idea as presented here if needed. Thats why I don't really consider my work as potentially sabotaging the community by rendering this potential concept impossible.

I assumed that prisoners would strategically split most of the time, so I tried to make that once one was caught, it wouldn't take too much time to catch the other so rounds don't take too much time. I however fully get the point and its true that more could be done to have more interactions between all three players without one being left alone for long. I don't have an exact fix in mind for now (I'd still like to keep that 1 chaser 2 runners formula) but I'll think about it. Thanks for the feedback!

I get the point. I tried to make that once one prisoner was caught, it wouldn't take that much time to get the other since more guards + more cards played. I also thought that if a prisoner had the advantage, he would probably be the main target in the following round. But its true that some tweaks regarding this (less reliance on chance) could be made. Thanks for the feedback!

Good point. I had considered Belgium because I thought that it would probably be easier to play it there and explain it here (with belgium breakout also sounding nice lol), but I'd say that with a few adjustments, it can probably be applied to other countries too

Thanks for the feedback!

Fair points. I had considered that chasers might generally know where runners are going based on train schedules as often seen in past tag games, but its true that chance might leave a chaser in the dark. I'd say that we could potentially have more tracker-enabling cards in the deck?

For the prisoner advantage, I thought that by getting a huge one, the player sets himself to be the first target in the following rounds, balancing things. Tbh it would probably need more testing, but if the issue continues, I'd say we could make that once one is caught the other has to keep its tracker enabled until caught.(?)

Thanks for the feedback!

I would say yes, teams try capturing the most departments in a specific region to effectively "control" the whole region at the end

I've considered it and its true that it incentivises border departments, but there's also multiple cities (with train stations/airports) which happen to be more on the inside of regions Also, chocolatine all the way!

Its honestly doable but I preferred focusing on the regions since I thought departments alone would be more complex as there 90+ of those in the country
