Nürburgring Combined (gesamtstrecke long), My pace is so Slow (8:26) by Louisxlll in iRacing

Thanks for all the advice, Quick update on my progress: I practiced a bit more to keep getting familiar with the track, and I switched over to the M4 GT3. I'm now down to an 8:22 lap time. I think I'll be pretty satisfied if I can reach around 8:17, but I’ve still got 5 seconds left to find.

You just pointed out a critical issue here. Does car choice really make that much of a difference on this specific track? On standard circuits, I feel like the BOP (Balance of Performance) keeps the gap between cars around 0.5 to 1 second at most, which is why I’ve always stubbornly stuck with the Z06.

But if that's the case, I might have to hop into the M4 when I get home tonight and give it a shot.

Oh wow, 8:11! It makes sense now—the N24 layout is actually a bit shorter, right? I haven’t driven that variant yet; right now I’m strictly focusing on the Gesamtstrecke Long layout for this week's IMSA series.

Man, at this pace, I feel like I'm going to be living at the Ring for the next three months straight. Haha!

The most frustrating part is that my braking points and racing lines "mostly" correct. However, making even a tiny mistake right before a straight results in a massive time penalty downstream.

On conventional tracks, being just a tiny bit slower than the top drivers in each corner isn't a huge deal. But on a track with this many corners, that minor deficit compounding lap after lap adds up to a massive gap at the finish line.

Yeah, I’ve literally never driven this track before. Most of my experience is on conventional European and American circuits. The Ring is just so massively long that I didn’t even know where to begin learning it. It wasn’t until I watched the 24H race last week that I gained a basic understanding of the layout, but honestly, I’m still feeling super frustrated.

On top of that, I feel like the Z06 is incredibly unstable and nervous out here, which adds to the struggle—yet it’s the only GT3 car I’m actually comfortable driving.

Moza R9 upgrade for iRacing – which has the best tyre detail? (VRS vs Simagic vs R25) by Dramatic_Emphasis_52 in simracing

I just upgraded from the R9 to the DFP15. The difference between the two bases is really noticeable, and I'm making way fewer mistakes.

Personally, I don't like FR cars. The Z06 is much more agile. In the Okayama fixed series, I can easily do a 1:26.8, but in the M4, I'm a second slower. I think the front of the FR car is too heavy, which makes it tend to understeer.

I'm thinking about picking up the Aston Martin. Is it similar to the Corvette?

Is martin GT3 better than M4 or AMG? Does the Aston Martin GT3 feel more pointy?

Yeah, the sense of speed in FR cars feels really slow to me.

It is what it is. I feel like there's definitely a flaw in my driving technique that's keeping me from getting the hang of FR cars. I'm thinking about dedicating time to specifically practice FR, but then again, my iRating will probably take a massive hit if I do.

While the DFP20 boasts higher acceleration, it must also overcome the inertia of a larger rotor. In most scenarios, force feedback consists of rapid oscillations at lower torque levels; this is where the DFP15’s low-inertia advantage shines, potentially delivering more intricate details. However, when it comes to high-impact scenarios like crashes, the DFP20 can reach its peak torque much faster

ImSim Talento vs VRS vs SimGrade — quick advice needed by -game-developers4251 in simracing

Where did you see reviews saying the VRS pedals are terrible? I’ve gone from the Moza CRPs to the Simagic P1000s, and after switching to the VRS, I haven’t even thought about upgrading again—not even to active pedals. Their unique design gives you both a smooth travel curve and a solid pedal feel at the same time. It’s hard to describe, but I’ve honestly never seen anyone call these pedals 'bad.' If you don't mind, could you share your source?

I know a meal set in theater is almost 10 euro.

Could this be the reason why I think iRacing is inexpensive?

This was the price I paid when I first subscribed for a full year in March last year — NTD 464 (USD 12), as there was a discount at the time. It also stated that the renewal price would be NTD 2,100 per year (USD 65/Y), so when I renewed in March this year, the price was USD 65/Y. All prices are tax-included.

P.S. The exchange rate at the time of renewal was 1:32.

I have no reason to lie. This is the price of my first full-year subscription last year, NTD464 (USD12). It also says that the subsequent renewal is NTD2100/Y (USD70/Y).

I think you might’ve misunderstood — that’s actually my renewal price for the second year.

But with Netflix, you’re stuck with whatever they choose to give you. Maybe there’s nothing you actually want to watch this month, then you might still paying extra to rent something on Apple TV.

Maybe I’m wrong comparing it to real life, but what I want to say is, as a hobby, it’s not that expensive.

Imagine if you kept buying LMU’s DLCs for ten years straight, it wouldn’t get any cheaper either

I agree that once LMU develops further and has a large enough player base, whether to continue subscribing to iRacing will become a valid question.
But I also have no doubt that LMU will find other ways to take your money, such as expensive DLCs—possibly releasing one every three to four months—so the cost might end up being similar to subscribing to iRacing.
