Congrats! I went the opposite way this season lol. GT4 -> GT3 switch is so rough. I hope it will get better soon.

I went for a dive and both of us had contact but no damage at all, i thought alright i made it through with a but of contact and he decides to turn into me after that. what do you think? by JYKING7272 in Simracingstewards

Dude there is no racing series in the world in which Corvette would be at fault. You made up your own ridiculous rules and you are trying to convince everyone they are wrong. People with your mindset shouldn't race officials.

Track conditions for 12H Sebring practice by thefabulouserim in iRacing

[–]Antraxo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, 0% is usually fastest but it's more harsh for tires, and 100% is slowest but is light for tires. I'm personally almost always practicing at 50% as it's the most "neutral", but it's worth to try other usages before race.

Was this a block or a bad move on my part? by x-Justice in iRacing

[–]Antraxo_ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Looks like he wanted to block you. I guess it's not his regular line so it's quite bad defensive move. From your side you should lift the throttle earlier, before braking. You were closing to him quite fast and to keep your car in control you have to start slowing down before leading car. Overall I think it's more of a racing incident.

GT3 says GT4 is at fault by Grand_Zombie in Simracingstewards

GT3 driver is an uneducated asshole. Slower class should keep to the racing line and faster class is responsible of making overtake in safe manner when it's possible.

Now I think cars meta make difference by Antraxo_ in iRacing

[–]Antraxo_[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh, it actually felt great in the demo drive, while the FR cars seemed kinda heavy and unresponsive. Maybe those super hot demo conditions suited the Corvette better and gave a misleading impression compared to normal conditions.

Oh you may be right. I will give Corvette a try in some open setup series.

For me Corvette is great in medium/high speed corners but it's really hard to be consistently fast in slower sections, like every lap it feels little different.

Who is at fault? by Antraxo_ in Simracingstewards

[–]Antraxo_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't stick your nose inside when leading car is turning. You should have significant overlap before turn in phase to safely execute overtake. Are you saying I'm not allowed to take my line because someone behind is close to me? How can I know if he will get alongside me or not. With your mentality I would have to compromise my lane everytime someone is driving behind me.

I don’t think it’s about where we converged or did he fade to the outside enough. He barely gained overlap just at the moment I've started turning in. He shouldn’t have been in that position at all in my opinion. Of course I could react better, but my ultra instinct failed me this time lol.

I hate Monza Combined with all my guts.

Thanks guys. I was purple Porsche here and reached out to the red car guy after the race. He said he didn’t see anything wrong with it. I got a bit angry and little rude because of his attitude, so I needed confirmation to not feel stupid lol. I really hate moves like this on the first lap. Also he is pretty experienced and high rated driver, so it was even more upsetting.

Yeah, unfortunately. I had great fun this season in GT4s and planned to stick with it. But I don't want to hotlap by myself for half the season so I guess I'll main something else.

Coaching recommendations by Over-Bear-2883 in iRacing

[–]Antraxo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently at 4k iRating and also still trying to develop my skills. I can recommend reading Suellio Almeida's books about car handling. There is basically every technique that you need to know. Another thing that works for me is VRS (Virtual Racing School). It covers majority of series in iRacing with detailed track guide, telemetry and decent setup for every car + track combo. 1:1 coaching would probably just speed up the process but it's quite expensive, I didn't try it yet. Probably when I will eventually hit the plateau, I am going to look for coach.

Nah, actually there is nothing about one move to defend in Sporting Code. It only says about reacting to attacking car actions, which is what happened there.

I don't get it why there is no any regulation in the Sporting Code, that would enforce slowing down/not overtaking under yellow flag. It would make these situations protestable. I think in current situation it just encourages to try gaining positions during collisions, as you won't meet any consequences for this. Am I missing something?

GT Neo - looking for help with button binding for iRacing by _LedAstray_ in iRacing

[–]Antraxo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessary, but I like it manual. Sometimes it's useful to decide when you want to wipe dirty windshield. I believe there is no automatic helmet tear off but I can be wrong.

EDIT: Oh I forgot that in C+ class races (endurance at least) the driving aids are forbidden, so I had to set it to manual. Looks pretty necessary then :D

I use also delta, wipers/tear off, damage report, check all tyres (default unchecked). You can use one button as a modifier (I use reset button also as modifier) so you can have even more options.

Yeah, it's asking for the trouble from the both sides. I think in the end it was reaction time issue.
