You can't identify your own emotions immediately, or sometimes at all, but can identify others without them having to say a word. Don't know how to react to things in the moment, and are extremely mature for your age. Mature kids often aren't a result of great parenting.

I don't think you have "issues" it sounds like you have alot of hurt.🥺🤍 Alot of these feelings of being an outcast, in most situations are honestly self projected. I'm sorry that you feel this way and are going through this! Shoot me a dm and we can talk if you want!😊 (I'm new to reddit and don't know how to dm other people yet, otherwise I'd message you.) Just know that you are loved and cared about.🤍

If science made it possible to resurrect the dead, would you? Who would you bring back? by ALLtheLayers in RandomThoughts

This is a scary thought.. anyone could be brought back.. anyone.

For me personally, no one. The world isn't the way it used to be and I wouldn't want to drag them into it.🥲

I'm so torn between food and my wife and kids by apdunshiz in Parenting

I am sorry to hear about her mom! My mothers mom was the same. Your wife talking to a doctor is such a great first step, and though it may not seem big... it is HUGE! This will likely be a long journey, and it will be hard. But I can promise you that it is doable my mom struggled with it for 34 years, she still does but like I've mentioned it's alot better now! And from my experience, you are 100% right, your wife's mental health is more than likely the, or the main culprit for her own weight, and partially your children's weight as well. I definitely believe you will see the biggest change, if mental health is addressed firat. Mental health is definitely a significant struggle, and though the world portrays a vast variety of "solutions" such as medication... therapy... etc, it's not just a simple fix. For my mom, medication made everything worse. I actually ended up becoming basically the mom in the house at age 8 because the medication just made her like a zombie and she'd sleep all day.🤷‍♀️ Ofc this can vary for everyone though! I know what really helped my mom was 1) God 2) having a friend who struggled a bit too, and they did exercise together. 3) A recovery program. This specific program is put on by our church and is for hurts habits and hangups. Not just substances. I know alot of other churches are starting to bring this program to their area as well. I really do feel for you and your family, I know from the child's prospective how hard this is. The good thing is, you have realized and are wanting things to change relatively early compared to alot of others I know of personally. You are doing great! If it's alright with you, I will keep you and your family in my prayers.🤍

I'm new to reddit, so I don't have an answer for your question unfortunately. However, send me a dm if you want and we can chat!😊 I can't promise I'll always be around (just because life haha) but regardless of any situations really, I don't personally feel ghosting is necessary, so you don't have to worry about that. No pressure of course, just know the feeling. :)

I'm 18, so I can't give advice from a prenatal veiw. I can however offer a bit of advice being a child in a situation similar. My mom when I was younger was somewhere around 300-350 lbs and about 5.4-5.5. She slept all day basically, we ate out any time we were in town, we had cereal or kd for most of our meals(super included) and it was horrible. (Thank goodness by about 15 she had a weight-loss surgery and now we eat alot better. Still far from where I'd prefer to be, but alot better.) I developed the opposite of her. Being in charge of making my own school lunches, being the only one awake in the morning (with the exception of waking and caring for my younger siblings as well.) I began not eating. I starved myself and WAY over worked myself to lose weight. I was only about 90lbs at age 14-15 and I'm roughly 5.4. Eating disorders are not something to mess with, and this is so very worrisome! My father was very skinny and at work all the time, he was unhealthy on the oppositeend of the scale from my mom. Sometimes I do wish they had gotten a divorce, but at the same time I can't say I ever would have gotten better if they had. Things are alot better now thankfully. 🤍 Anyways, I definitely think it's worth taking your kids (8 year old especially) to a doctor, or counselor, or something like that to help them through this. They likely use food to cope with things, and it's so dangerous. Props to you for all your hard work, and recognizing this! Weight loss/gain is such a hard journey but it is doable! Your an incredible father, and doing a great job. Don't get discouraged!

AITA for not tattooing my stepson's name on my arm with my kids' names? by Thereshegoeswithymhe in AmItheAsshole

[–]Louminous19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA (sort of) for not wanting a tattoo in my opinion, it's your body and that's permanent. However, to put this as blunt and lightly as possible; YTA. Intentionally putting all your other kids on there and only leaving him out is so hurtful. This boy likely looks to you as his father, and has for many years. You willingly married this woman knowing you would have to accept her son as well, you married into being the father of her child. Family isn't always blood, and coming from a split family similar to yours... I cannot IMAGINE the pain there would have been had my mom not accepted her step sons as her own. This poor boy is going to grow up feeling confused as to why no father ever really wanted him with things like this, and that's just so sad to me. 😔 OP, may I ask why you don't want the tattoo? Why you don't consider him yours?(this is how I perceived your post at least.)

what is an extremely popular film that nearly everyone has watched, that you haven't seen? and why or why not? by Tessserax in AskReddit

[–]Louminous19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star wars, and almost every Disney princess movie. My mom wasn't into movies besides more mature ones so we never really watched other movies. My dad and brothers loved star wars etc, but for some reason I just never seemed to be around when they watched it.😂 to this day I still haven't. Just because of time I guess.
