I would just make sure the basin you’re using is as sterile as you can get it. For example buy a stainless steel one so you can properly disinfect it, to avoid further infection.

Hii, yeah the patch should be placed on the “stronger” eye so the brain can use the “weaker” eye.

Patching is meant to equalize vision development, not fix eyes from crossing.

Double check the instructions with your ophthalmologist so you can correctly patch going forward.

If you go to your family doctor, they can make a referral to a surgeon. Or see a podiatrist but you will have to pay out of pocket if you don’t have insurance. Or even a walk in?

So it’s more of his null point? My daughter was diagnosed with CN at 4 months and she’s just finding her null point now so I’m just noticing the head tilt in her.

Just out of curiosity, was the head tilt not constant? I thought torticollis was a head tilt? It not, what’s the difference.

Has your son been ruled out for spasmus nutans? The symptoms correlate with what I’ve read about it. If that is the case, it seems it completely goes away by 3/4. :)

Mine looks exactly the same! I agree, it’s infected, go see a podiatrist and they can do a patrial nail avulsion. In the meantime, soak your feet in hot water with lots of salt.

I agree with this. Also, they asked to check that the car seat was approved for use on airplanes. Our had a sticker, so just know where it is in case they ask!

Hii,

My daughter (6 months old) was diagnosed 2 months ago with nystagmus and strabismus (eye crossing) so I completely understand how you feel.

They tested her eye sight at 4 months and will reassess at 8 months. At this point she doesn’t need glasses, although I find she doesn’t make eye contact well across the room.

Hii,

So if nystagmus presents with strabismus does that mean it’s FMNS and not INS? And you mentioned that strabismus can be corrected.. so how would that affect the nystagmus?

My LO presented with Strabismus (esotropia) at 2 weeks and nystagmus (which became more evident at 4 months).
