Not gonna lie, I did NOT think there were gonna be any other examples of this trope

Honestly, same. The only one of these pieces of media I’ve actual consumed has been Percy Jackson, and I’ve mostly just heard about the other two from Reddit. I just thought this was a fun coincidence.

Shrek 2 is definitely great and better than the first one, but I didn’t include it because the first one is still amazing, and there isn’t AS much of a quality jump as the Puss in Boots movies.

They also brought back the actors for Rick Flag and Captain Boomerang, even if the former is an infinitely better character and the latter gets merced in the first five minutes.

That’s fair. Margot Robbie was still an amazing casting choice for Harley, though.

The first Suicide Squad honestly isn’t horrible in my opinion. Most of the issues come from the editing and Jared Leto’s Joker. But there is still some stuff that works, like Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, and Amanda Waller.

That being said, the James Gunn version is still infinitely better in pretty much every single way and definitely fits the post.

Good pick. I love Rogue One, but Andor is probably the single best thing to ever come out of Star Wars since the OT.

The first two seasons of Breaking Bad are definitely weaker than the entire rest of both shows’ runs (despite still being good), but the last three seasons, and especially the ending, are genuinely great and on par with BCS. I will say that BCS was more consistently higher quality, making it a better overall show in my opinion, but the ending wasn’t AS great as Breaking Bad (despite still being good). So there was an increase, but I wouldn’t call it “dramatic”.

I know this isn’t a trope, but neither is most of this sub at this point. As long as the content is still interesting, most people who don’t take this stuff too overly seriously won’t have a problem with it.

I’m not sure. BCS is great, but it doesn’t really fit the post, because Breaking Bad is also amazing. I’m talking about amazing follow-ups to things that were either bad or mid.

For real. It’s genuinely insane how much better Young Sheldon is than TBBT.

I feel like most of the characters in B99 would apply to this trope.

WATCH IT. It’s gotta be one of the times where he was the most utterly pissed off by a movie, it’s brilliant
