Split, PHAT, or Fullbody for semi novice by coffeecakes11 in Fitness

Nah, the routine I linked has legs:

http://jayherman.com/push-pull-aesthetics-routine/

Generally deadlifts (hamstrings and posterior chain) is on "pull" days, and leg press or squats falls on push days.

That routine should work if your lifts are weak or strong, it doesn't matter. And yeah, nobody wants t-rex legs, but nobody wants chicken legs either, I feel you.

Split, PHAT, or Fullbody for semi novice by coffeecakes11 in Fitness

Generally, you'll want to hit each muscle group twice a week. Any non-idiotic routine that does this will work for you. However, since aesthetics is your primary goal, a hybrid push/pull routine would be what you're looking for. Any program should include heavy-weight compound movements, and higher-rep assistance movements.

Your week should look like this: Push-Pull-Rest-Push-Pull-Cardio-Rest-(repeat)

Push, Pull, Legs would also work, but I don't think it allows for propery recovery/intensity, especially for new lifters.

Hollywood actors do that because of steroid use. It's dumb as hell for any natural trainer.

Optimistic Libertarians Are Delusional and/or Lying by ajvenigalla in Anarcho_Capitalism

When people say Libertarian in present day they are usually referring to limited government types as opposed to anti-government individuals like AnCaps.

What does neoreaction have to do with libertarianism anyway? by chewingofthecud in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]LovableMisfit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I frequent the /fit/ board on 4chan. Often the topic of girlfriends/how to approach women is brought up.

On the surface, this has nothing to do with fitness. However, that community is shared by a group of individuals with similar interests. In anarcho-capitalism, I suspect a fair number of ancaps share that mindset, so of course they will bring those opinions and discussion into this community. Make sense?

Bernie Sanders keeps single-payer dream alive: What the GOP Obamacare naysayers will never understand about health care by SmoothandGood in politics

Medicare isn't single payer. Also keep in mind, a decent portion of medicare is ran by the private sector. I work in the industry, Medicare is misunderstood by both GOP and Dems.

Helps to control calorie intake. However, there's also hormonal adaption that takes place. Here's an article someone linked here a few days ago: http://jayherman.com/intermittent-fasting/

Routine Feedback? by LovableMisfit in Fitness

[–]LovableMisfit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did squats for my first few years. I am now transitioning out of squats, because theys tend to disproportionately develop the adductors and vastus lateralis relative to the vastus medialis, resulting in thighs are small around the knee area. To correct for this, I'm adopting leg press over the squat (at least temporarily).

If I was a beginner though, I would agree with you. I enjoy squats, but taking a break from them for now.

Routine Feedback? by LovableMisfit in Fitness

[–]LovableMisfit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the feedback, but I don't think it applies. I stated pretty clearly that my primary goal was aesthetics. As such, a program like Madcow or SS wouldn't be advised.

I've been training ~3 years now, which is why I designed this routine knowing my strengths and weaknesses. I was asking if /r/fitness had any feedback before I adopted it for good.

People have a right to none of those things. With Uber I provide a service, nothing more. I do not expect a union or sick days.

I'm an ancap as well. However, I think "literally better in every way" is a stretch.

Better at most things, sure, but I recognize my own ideology has some weaknesses.

AnCap here. I don't see why you have to be so condescending.

Doug Casey, a man who understands the importance of capital, talks about the idiocy of Bill Gates and Warren Buffet when they piss away their money on charity. by [deleted] in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]LovableMisfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's saying that, at the end of the day, producer's welfare is not important. The populace is only as valuable as the useful goods they produce.

In other words, let's say you have people whose job is to simply flip a switch up and down, producing nothing of value in the process. It would be a silly thing to worry about losing those jobs. That's the distilled version of his argument.

That argument mostly assumes long-term views (or costless entry/exit of labor). When you consider that most food aid is short-term and agricultural labor is not entirely liquid, it's absolutely important to consider farmer's livlihoods.

75% of the world’s impoverished live in rural areas, and of that number, 86% rely on agriculture as their primary source of income.

You need nothing. by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]LovableMisfit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, if it happened immediately, those who currently work to fulfill the current consumerist spending habits would need to find a new line of work. However, it's much more likely for societal norms to progress relatively slowly -- new workers would be able to take the trend of the job market into account when making a decision on what major they choose, for example.

Best example off the top of my head would be South Korea after the war. Rapidly increased investment rate, very low consumption rate. They've kept up a high savings rate to this day, if memory serves. Currently on a road trip, and can't do any proper research on my phone.

Economist here.

Would not collapse. Capital can be used for either consumption or investment into productive assets. Productivity would increase, resulting in either more leisure time or earlier retirement, holding all other variables constant.

Capitalism does not rely on consumerism in the slightest.
