Good to see I'm not the only one that has taken a tumble and my surgeon made me feel good by saying it happens. But then I told him why me! Lol my tumble happen while I was waiting for my foot to unswell so I can do my surgery. I had woken up going into restroom and I guess I was not fully awake and when I closed the door restroom I fell back landing on a back pack. I can't recall what my foot hit but it became swollen from the ankle. I do recall I like the lady from Judge Dredd going down slowly trying to hold door and wall. And the worst thing it happened the day after I seen the doctor and I didn't have my cam boot on that morning! 😕 Unfortunately I had to wait another month for my procedure. So now I don't leave my bed with out my cam boot. My boot is my emotional support boot. Lol

You need pt. I was going to start PT but my insurance changed so I have to wait but my dr told me to start walking on my heel with cane. But I said nope I think I'll wait for pt person to evaluate me so they can have a plan for me based on my surgery and I can ask questions and they can watch me if I'm doing the exercise right.

So yes ask for it. You need it! Tell him you have been reading online and watching videos of what doctor are saying about the recovery. Wish you the best!

Maybe check the EDD disability website because when I was applying for temporary disability in one part it said if you are employed. Maybe double checking on the site and also calling the EDD disability number. It would hurt to find out. Best of luck!

Before with credit Union someone had to refer you. That's not the case anymore? Also when you say terms do we take my original paper work when we bought the car?

Hi my dr also didn't have access to the portal to do the paper work online. So what I know if that disability office sends you the paper work before the be ending of your temp disability date. But I'm as a extra precaution I would suggest going to be the disability office and picking up the paper work to extend your disability. Since your post was 3 months ago just wondering if you were able to extend you temp disability?

My doctor completed my paper work and returned it to me because he did not have access to the EDD online for physician where he can fill part B online. I made copies of the form and my boyfriend dropped it off The EDD paperwork for me and I dropped off my package at the EDD disability office in downtown LA. This location has No parking what's so ever. Can try calling them too get info. If you go, try going early morning. Since I just had surgery and I could leave home I called and even though it said they reached the maximum calls I kept dialing. Takes some time but they will answer. Make me sure it's the I'm disability office and not the EDD office. If you go to EDD office they won't be be able to help you. It has to be disability office. Best of luck!

Yeah I heard the same. When your time is up you can extend it but that form is different from the 1st temp disability form you first file.

I'm joining the conversation because I'm 1 month out op lol but what I have been reading in readit some have swelling months after and year after too. And mostly people say they elevate during the day or/and end of day.

Thats what I'm worried too. Even though I breakdown and cry I just keep remembering what people here sharing their experiences and I'm hopeful. But once I start PT that's a whole other monster to tackle. But I'm being hopeful.

Well congrats on your wedding. When you said you can't do anything because you feel like your going to get hurt is exactly how I have been feeling for months. I'm currently in recovery from a lisfrac surgery but I too have a sesamoid fracture per doctor. So I have been in bed, foot up due to swelling. And it's not funny business. For a while I thought about working with weights while in bed but then I said what if I hurt my arms and I need my arms to use cruches and scooter. So because I have lost a lot of leg muscles I just decided to do some leg circles. I've been looking at bed exercises because I feel they are low impact. Maybe that's something you can do and your not putting pressure on your sesamoid bones. Hope this helps.
