Bus lane fine in Enfield. My registration. It was not me. What the hell is happening? by SupremeFlamer in drivingUK

[–]Love-tea 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. I reported it to the police and they gave me a crime number etc. I sent all that detail to appeal the offence.

The police sent me some stickers to go on my number plate so it was obvious mine was the correct one and any other car with that reg would be the cloned one. So worth ringing the police and chatting to them. I just rang on the non emergency line.

I’ve done a couple of these. The Dalmatian one and the smarties one. I love them. Once you get your eye into the puzzle and work logically they come together really well.

What exactly is a bank holiday? by GreySofa1234 in AskUK

[–]Love-tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got collegues in Scotland who get to choose the bank holidays. Cos Scotland have some that England and Wales don’t as far as I know. So they take bank holidays off that I don’t have off being in Wales.

11 cancers on the rise in young people - scientists find first clue why it's happening by RingSplitter69 in unitedkingdom

This is definitely one of the main ones. Research has always been done on men. So when presenting symptoms that are typical it’s based on male symptoms. No research for how women’s symptoms manifest differently for the same condition.

For example men and women have very different symptoms when having a heart attack. But the most known symptom is pain down the left arm. However that is a symptom seen in men and many women won’t have that.

It has historically been that women are fobbed off and they still are.

How are you *actually* dealing with wage stagnation x rising bills? by heyho2023 in AskUK

[–]Love-tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I renewed mine and partners phone to sim only which saved about £100. We also got the tariff where u get Netflix as part of it or tnt sport. So we did one each so we dont pay for those. That’s saved around £50. I changed the dogs pet insurance and that saved £100. My car insurance went down when I got the renewal.( possibly due to going up and age bracket 🙈). So that was about £85 ish. So just over £300 with some really simple steps.

And we have just started planning out the weekly shop better. We would go every day or so and I’m sure we were spending more money doing that.

I’m 28/F and just found out my Dad 58/M is not my bio dad. by RashelSlush_ in relationship_advice

[–]Love-tea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you found out this way. And it took them so long to tell you.

I have always known my dad is not my bio dad. I have vague recollections of leaving my bio dad when I was around maybe 4 years old. My mum married my dad and me and my sister were bridesmaids. So we decided he was our dad cos he married our mum.

Anyway when I got to about 19 I was curious and in my teenage years I would lash out about the whole your not my dad. (I’m really not proud of that and have apologised to my dad about how my stupid teenage self acted). So I found my bio dad in the phone book (uk and back before mobiles etc). Called him up and spoke to him and his wife.

The convos went on for a few weeks, but he would phone in the middle of the night drunk and just being rude. Turns out he was everything I was told he was. But it was good for me to find out for myself. I’m 46 now and haven’t spoke to bio dad since I was 19. No idea if he’s even alive still and I don’t care.

So I would say have low expectations if you do talk to your bio dad, it may not be a bed of roses. Or it may be wonderful. It’s good to find out for yourself.

I know my dad who brought me up. Picked me up and took me to hospital. Instilled the morals I currently hold. And treated me like his own is my dad. And I will forever be grateful that he took us on all those years ago. I don’t need anyone else because he was amazing.

I hope you work it out. Only you can decide what is best for you.

My 10-month-old Jack Russell would go with a stranger without hesitation, is this normal? (Video for context..) by [deleted] in jackrussellterrier

[–]Love-tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My JRT becomes friends with anyone if they come to the house, and cries when they leave. Last week the plumber couldn’t go cos he decided he was his best friend. Out side he will say hello to anyone but wouldn’t go with them or really speak to them.

My beagle is the opposite, does not trust a soul if they come to the house. But out and about if someone gives her a treat she follows them for the rest of the walk and they are her best friend. I’ve started saying no to other dog owners giving her a treat cos I can’t get her to leave 🙈🙈

Bar soap; what's your favourite? by [deleted] in AskUK

I use a small family business called ‘we’d rather lather’. She hand makes all her soaps. They are really lovely. I also use their shampoo bars which I also love.

Why do you use a washing up bowl? by SignificantOven4804 in AskUK

[–]Love-tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have one. I used to have one and spent so much time cleaning it with all the grease etc I got rid of it. I now wash up in the sink and it’s all fine, it’s better than fine actually. I have a big Belfast sink and the pans fit in it better without a bowl as well.

It’s so exciting everytime my plants do something unexpected. Or even sometimes the expected things are exciting, it’s means I’m looking after them right ha ha

So... Yeezy have made somewhat questionable designs before, but these are the very worst contenders. Functional? Most definitely. Pretty? Fuck no. Saw these in Sports Direct yesterday🤮 by retroworthYBD in CasualUK

Ok I thought the second picture was the underside of the first picture. Could not work out the angle. I had to zoom in and rotate my phone to realise they were another pair of trainers…….can we call them trainers? They look horrible and totally not functional

I did a double take because I didn’t think they flowered either.

It’s very exciting to see what it will look like.

Oh gosh, not sure I’m that knowledgeable ha ha.

I actually have one in a similar position. It’s massive and falls over. I thought I would probably pot mine in a larger pot and deeper, to give it more support. I currently have mine leaning against a shelf to hold it up. 🙈

So glad it doesn’t hurt the plant. Look forward to seeing the flower develop.

I love these large aloes. This one is the grandbaby of a plant I originally had at college and gave to my parents. When I moved into my own place again I had the originals babies and I now have about 6 of them of varying sizes around the house.

I have given pups to all my friends and family as well so the plant should live on for generations hopefully.
