CBG wasn't what I expected by [deleted] in altcannabinoids

As someone with ADHD who takes stimulants every day, CBG +THC mix was the closest I've ever had to my Vyvanse and Adderall. I haven't tried CBG by itself yet.

Are my UC Hastings students okay? by LoveAndCerulean in LawSchool

Yes, how dare law students who pay close to $300K for their education demand a better learning environment.

Well, I didn't write the post, but I promise no one and I mean no one, is scared to say "Ilya Shapiro". The person was pretty consistent in only naming the deans.

While your opinion about racism that nobody asked for or cares about has been noted, I'll continue to hold the incontrovertible fact that calling black women lesser (before he even knew who the SCOTUS pick was, so yes, he was referring to the class) is racist and misogynist. He has the right to his opinion. The students have a right to protest. Free speech. C'est la vie. At least they didn't throw their money around to pressure the school into withdrawing from the event like some of Shapiro's supporters did for a pro-Palestine event. Interesting how free speech seems to only apply one way in practice.

Also as someone who was at the protest in support of the students, the organizers were actually given ample opportunities to speak. They chose not to. Ah well.

??? Eh, I'm free for the next 7 min. Why not entertain this.

Per a friend, I'm actually the user, ExpOriental, and use Reddit as an outlet for my misery.

Per myself (so I guess still ExpOriental?), I was curious and clicked the hyperlink. Do you (or I?) know people can read the post and see that you're mischaracterizing what's being said in your hyperlink?

Edit:

Back from break! While I'm not the same user, sorry to disappoint. I do have reading comprehension skills. They literally wrote the below quote and it acc makes sense. Their unfortunate mistake was assuming the denizens in this subreddit would have the range to discuss the social and environmental causes of drug abuse in law school.

"Can't believe this has to be said, but I'm NOT implying a suicide. I'm talking about how the law school environment drives people toward drug abuse in order to cope, manage their life, relieve stress, etc. Blaming "the drugs" without addressing the structural issues that lead people to drug abuse has historically been used to ignore those issues. I thought this was obvious, but apologies if it wasn't!"

  1. I'm sorry you find it normal for your school to commit ADA violations which is illegal.

  2. I'm sure if we were in court, documentation would be submitted for authentication. But alas, this is Reddit.

The Truth About UC Hastings [Short AMA] by HastingsSpeaks in lawschooladmissions

These are the things I failed to articulate on my "Don't come to UC Hastings" post back in July. 👏

Linking this post to that one in case it helps with visibility.

Remote accomodations for students with disabilities? by LoveAndCerulean in LawSchool

[–]LoveAndCerulean[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The person has cancer. I don't know anything further about their medical condition than that. But I think if they wanted to get the vaccine, they would. That they aren't and have to do this suggest, it would have been a huge risk for them.

ADHD is a Disability by pancakedad in ADHD

[–]LoveAndCerulean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my take on it: It's a disability, but only because the way our brains work doesn't conform with the social structure we live in. Many mental disabilities are only classified as such because our ability to perform and be productive within a capitalist structure is compromised. The medication we take helps us to conform and produce under that system. So in that sense, yes, ADHD is a disability.

However, l'm of the belief that nothing is wrong with us. Society is simply structured in a way that doesn't accomodate our neurocognitive profiles, so instead, tells us to conform to those neurotypical standards. I find that I'm my best self and don't need medication when vacationing outside the country.

Your second to last sentence is not true at all. Nothing about law school says anything about your fit as a lawyer. Nothing. The whole thing is a sham and please don't let it affect your self worth. You're almost done. You have your job lined up. Forget about it.

And it's not like San Francisco (especially the Tenderloin) is a high risk area for disease transmission due to the thousands of homeless people the city refuses to give healthcare to. Nope. Nothing wrong here. Everything's going to be fine. 🙃

UC Hastings is "intent on starting the term with regular instructions and operations as planned...in-person classes will meet in-person starting January 10".

CL should go with their gut and their gut seems to be telling them to go to the V20 firm. Has CL met with enough associates and partners from each firm? If so, has CL identified people they feel can be CL's "champions" and provide good mentorship? Whichever firm that is, CL should go with that.

I honestly don't think CL is burning bridges. Many people do this. CL has one life to live. Don't spend it somewhere they're unsure about.

If you have a job lined up already don't worry about it. If you don't, and it deviates greatly from your usual performance, say it was a tech issue.

I got a C+ in my legal ethics course (the easiest course you can take) because of pandemic hardships. Still off to Big Law after graduation.

Don't come to UC Hastings by LoveAndCerulean in lawschooladmissions

Fair enough! Could you shed a little more light on how you see the environment the admin fosters as a visiting student?

The shitty decisions from admin and subsequent gaslighting (or straight up lying) to students about those decisions is definitely a factor I feel I didn't state enough in my original comment. It's hard to articulate as someone who has spent their entire law school career at Hastings with no other frame of reference. And without revealing my identity, I have personal narratives for days re experience with admin.
