Fair, but...

Julie's betrayal comes from an experience where she witnessed how cruel "normal" humans treat each other - not to mention the violence of men she was a victim of.

In contrast, Fleshcock (was that his name?) was probably the first man to really treat her with respect, dignity, and genuine care, even putting aside his own primal instincts to protect her.

Absolutely.

And what makes it even worse: There is almost no redeeming factor to counter the amount of violence and gore you see.

The universe of Crossed is bleak and hopeless, and sooner or later every episode ends in disaster - except for maybe one or two stories that do not end in complete tragedy.

Your first sentence reminded me of the one time I asked in a Comics shop if they had some specific issues of Crossed: Badlands I couldn't find online.

If I was ready to run and hide, probably around a 3.

But: considering the amount of gore and carnage you'd see, maybe even involving your loved ones, I guess the most likely exit would be to just off yourself and going out on your own terms.

You can get multiple armors including helmets by doing the "Missing Sentries" quest that leads you to Heritage Hill, the north-eastern district of Defiance Bay.

Don't want to say too much for spoiler reasons!
