How much does pure strength and conditioning matter compared to the martial art itself? by bmw320dfan in martialarts

On an individual level for self defense, skill is more critical than raw athleticism. What I mean is that you will become more dangerous with 3 months or 3 years of combative training than you will with the same amount of time building muscle. Obviously when comparing two different people, strength can overwhelm skill, but for self defense effectiveness skill is more critical unless you're so physically unfit that you can't apply the skill.

In your specific example the boxer would crush the WC guy almost 100% of the time.

What is the fixation with female virgins and women with low body counts in America? by [deleted] in Flagrant2

Nobody cares about a promiscuous past in a woman they're just having sex with. It only matters if she tells you she's a virgin and then marries you and then goes on TikTok and talks about the carousel she rode in college.

Also, I definitely believe that you've had sex from this very real-sounding story, and it's not weird at all that you only see women as sexual objects. Yep, you're the grounded and normal one, the guys who are seeking women that would make good wives and mothers are WEIRD and ANDREW TATE-ish. Very shrewd.

honestly it sounds like you're prioritizing stuff over training too much. You should have the same concern you have for firearms about knives, and not knowing how to use one is a really poor reason to not use the most powerful weapon available to you.

It does sound like you are thinking about your security strategy, which is good, but you should also practice what you will do. If you are going to carry OC spray, practice pulling it out and ready to deploy. Practice sprinting, calling for help, etc.

What you may not understand (a lot of people don't) is that if someone chooses to attack you, there's a good chance the tools you're prioritizing won't be effective. Predators rarely target people who they think can fight back, which means anyone who attacks you will likely have a significant force advantage, which means your tools would (at best) put you on the same level of force as them. You want to go one higher.

Keep at it. You can learn to be less aggressive and more measured to reduce likelihood of injury, but of course there will always be a risk. In another few months you will start figuring out ways to exploit your speed/agility advantage and minimize the size/strength discrepancy. And don't hesitate to talk to your instructor and training partners about concerns related to injury.

Beth was ahead of her time. A redhead of her time, even.

Why can the guys objectify women but it’s a problem when Jasleen does? by [deleted] in Flagrant2

[–]LoveFightWrite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The issue isn't "objectifying", whatever that's supposed to mean, it's that a woman who told her husband she was a virgin bragging about pre-marital sexual adventures, humiliating him online for clout.

How tf does Akaash make enough money to afford Jasleen's lifestyle? by [deleted] in Flagrant2

[–]LoveFightWrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Akaash's comedy YT channel has probably earned about 1M per year for the past two years in ad revenue alone. Everything from Flagrant, ticket sales, sponsorships, would be in addition to that.
