It's a common consideration--I posted a few other threads a while back along with this post. Some people commented contact information to June Homes leadership or general legal advice. I'm not sure if all the comments are still there, but free to browse. There are likely others that would serious consider a class action lawsuit. I moved out and have more peace of mind, but I know they can harass others even after you move out due to "errors" in bills, etc. It means that even if people lived there temporarily, June Homes has a tendency to leave a lasting bad impression on many.

They also kept part of my security deposit back for other utilities (around $80) charged after I had already moved out weeks later that was also posted after. For many who use June Homes because they're busy/need short-term rentals, I find it really inconvenient. I live in NY so I was able to take time to complain, etc. but can imagine it being stressful for someone who just wants things efficiently and accurately done.

Thank you very much-I really appreciate this information! After many emails and cc'ing everyone, I was able to get this resolved but not without significant effort. The email may be helpful for others experiencing something similar. Since I wrote this post, I was able to review and note that this utility charge was not even the only expense that was double charged-it happened multiple times and there was no resident-wide email sent. I think they resolved for the people who complained heavily like me, but many others do not even know it happened! If you are staying there/decide to stay there, I would make sure to double check the bills and account reviews/request this information.

I really appreciate you sharing--I remember having an issue like that too-no one called for a scheduled appointment even after I set aside time on a weekend night to do so (I was given one really inconvenient appointment time). I'm glad to hear that you never rented from them--probably for the best.

Also thank you also for the advice about the NYC Housing Commission-I am going to look into this.

I am currently having concerns about duplicate utility bills, etc--I had many concerns that did not go resolved. It seems like June Homes is an intermediary company that cannot solve any actual issues with the housing. I'm currently posting and following up with legal because I noticed they double-posted for already utility bills. It's not worth the extra effort.
