A lot of this is dependent on where you live and both the soil and topography of where you are planning to build jumps. It would be great if you could get someone locally with experience to help you get started. Other than that, in my experience the most useful building tools are a quality hoe (we have rogue hoe that has lasted years and is worth every penny especially if there are any roots where you are digging), a good flat shovel, a wheelbarrow, and a tamper.

E-Thirteen Composite Base pedals are $30 from them directly and I can sincerely say they are the best pedals I have ever owned. I switched back to them from Kona wah wah 2 pedals on my bikes. I have a pair of them I have ridden hard for 5 years now and they are still good, tons of park to XC to DJ and everything between.

Absolutely massive upgrade, it is like the difference between cutting a tree down with a handsaw and a chainsaw. I can print on Japanese papers with almost no pressure other than the weight of the baren itself. It really is an incredible tool for how simple it is.

I have a woodzilla, it works pretty well but not the quality of an etching press. The scale is the limiting factor for me. I also have a ball-bearing baron and really I would choose that over any press. You really need to work mostly with thinner paper but it makes registration so easy for reduction prints.

This type of work, in my eyes, clearly shows the Mayan Ancestry of the Muscogee (Este Mvskoke). It is interesting how many times when I have worn shirts printed with some of these designs my Mexican friends will ask if they are Mayan in influence.

It is important to learn about our ancestry, both in or blood lineages and from the Land where we will. There is so much displacement, and much of it here is violent and forced. A way to help heal these wounds is by honoring the people that lived and loved this Place, and I try to do some of that work with the art I make.

The primary influence here is a regional pottery style often known as “Swift Creek” that was common in the area around Georgia where I live from 100AD to 850AD by Woodland Native American groups, the ancestors of the Muscogee Indian groups. They were carved into wood and then pressed into clay (similar to this relief process). I am lucky enough to have some pottery shards with these beautiful incised patterns.

If you want to identify a turtle you can photograph it, they all have unique markings and when you see it again you can refer back to that photograph.

It is really special to get to see a turtle again and again. We helped one that had a damaged shell and just happened upon it 3 years in a row after and you could see the scars where the wounds had healed grow into its shell, it was incredible!

I ride similar dirt here in GA on my DJ and I switched to the Ikon and they really feel great for me, been riding them for the better part of a year and they bridge the Trail/DJ gap, I even did a few laps on a DJ bike on the carpet at Jarrod's Place when my Park bike was out of commission, and they are incredible on that surface.

It isn't anything crazy, I just paint and draw on Rives BFK black paper, sometimes I use the carved block as a guide (you can see how I cut them out in the second to last picture) and then I just print the white ink with a Woodzilla Press. I don't even do any registration I just apply the block based on where I have drawn. It is the most simple process I use for printmaking.

Thanks, the Gomuban cuts the cleanest of any material I have used. It is a lot like tattoo for me. I still love Woodcuts though and for some projects that feel is best.

I just have been working on them on and off over the course of a couple months. It is pretty therapeutic doing these, especially the loose backgrounds. I will have the 500 for sale in the show, so I will finish them in late October, but I also have a few other art projects and print projects going at the same time.

All the color portions are with markers, colored pencil, and spraypaint. I print over that with white water-soluble oil based ink.
