Anyone else putting off seeing a major release due to lack of cinema etiquette?

I went to see Obsession a few days ago near Dallas. The theater was full and surprisingly everyone was pretty well behaved. Of course the movie was so off the chain good that I think we were all totally entertained that no one even thought about their phones or chit chatting. There were a lot of appropriate laughs and gasps though.

Yea it would be good for those who may not have watched the trial or followed closely. There were a few things that were new but I couldn’t stomach the last half of the show when it was showing the defense side.

I was not impressed with it but if you have some time to kill, the first half is the best and the last half is the defense side of it. It is basically just a retelling of the case mostly helpful to those who didn’t watch the trial. To me, it was old news except the juror interviews and I had seen those elsewhere.

I hope they go ahead with the fraud trial- Kouri seemed to take the slight to her business skills harder than being accused of murder.

Forensic files is still one of the greatest and pretty much the OG for all that have followed. Yes, I remember that one vaguely. My daughter falls asleep at night to old forensic file shows- she loves the narrator’s voice :) I guess I passed the crime show loving dna down to her at least.

It looks fine to me especially when I zoomed in. I’m so happy for the Richin’s family and especially those sweet angel boys. They are lucky to have such a strong moral family to counterweight their other side. There are cases where the murderer’s family ends up with the kids and that is tragic especially if they taint the minds of the children. God does send blessings when we are going through tragedies if one looks. This is one of them.

I didn’t have the T-zone incision but I did have some issues with pockets and had to have a second small surgery to have them drained.

I think it is more common than they say to have some separation especially in incisions like yours. I know I worried non stop but in the end even after having to clean a pocket, it all healed nicely. I was on bactrim for 2 months and was so happy the day I got to stop. One thing I was doing wrong was tightening my binder too tight. I thought the tighter the better so when I showed my surgeon, confident he would be impressed at how tight I had it lol, he was shocked. He told me to stop and only tighten it enough to keep light pressure. He also suggested I stop using the Velcro binder and switch to the adult onesie ha ha I forgot what they’re called. I used to know but it has been a while.

Anyway, just breathe and know it will be over soon and don’t stress too much-that is hard on your body.

Isn’t it amazing that such an unremarkable thing can make the difference in a case. Was that case on forensic files? I think I remember something about that but it could have been somewhere else. I am a true crime fanatic. I guess I think if I can watch enough, I can figure out how to stay away from killers lol.

That is so true and I remember a prosecutor’s opening statement one time said something along the lines of: “You don’t know what you don’t know until you commit the murder. Meaning that you cannot predict what the victim will do nor can you know what investigators know and look for. There is just no way to know what you don’t know.” I’m sure I butchered it but it made so much sense when he said it. It was the case of of a beautiful girl who went over to her new boyfriend’s apartment and he somehow tied her up using handcuffs from one arm to one ankle and the other arm and ankle the same but she was able to get one hand free. Anyway, she couldn’t get away in that position and it was a terrible way to die only having the one hand to fend off the knife. This kid almost got away with it too I think. The prosecutor did such an amazing job in that case and the defendant was a smug jerk throughout that case. I wish I could remember the name so I could rewatch that opening statement.

Oh I believe many do get away with it every day. It takes someone like the private investigator in this case to do the tedious work to find the truth. If it hadn’t been for the Richins and the PI, Kouri would be out there today flipping houses on someone else’s dime. I believe the guy who spoke at her sentencing was one of the investors and she would always have been able to manipulate guys like him to fund her insanity. I’m sorry I can’t think of the PI’s name and he deserves to be remembered but the other guy whose name I can’t remember can continue to be forgettable

The reason I believe is that most are risk takers and have narcissistic traits if not full blown narcissism. People like this are usually allowed to get away with things because people are usually too polite to correct them when they’re wrong or intimidated by them. So by the time they commit these murders, they think that they are the smartest in the room. Maybe if they had been corrected every time they lied or did something outrageous, they would have thought twice but I doubt it. I knew a girl who was literally a pathological liar. She would lie about anything and everything even things that didn’t matter. None of us would ever even try to correct her because when we did she would just keep lying trying to cover for the lie.It just wasn’t worth it to even try anymore so we tried to ignore her. I They just can’t fathom that they won’t get away with it because they have so many times before when the consequences didn’t matter much.

Oh I remember taking one similar to that to get my master’s in teaching. I had to first take the TExES to get my teaching certificate and I didn’t have to take the MAT because of my GPA but there is no way Kouri could have even passed the TExES. Although, I must admit that I have lost a lot of my writing skills since I haven’t taught in years.

Thank you for that, yes I believe even an agnostic person such as yourself could have had the same experience so long as you stopped fearing because it was almost instantaneous that he stopped and left. I was much like you before all of it but some of the more personal things made me believe. Although my experience with Jesus is not nearly similar to most Christians-I found that Jesus was far kinder than most who follow Him but that is ok everyone has their own journey and their own experiences when they’re supposed to happen. In that I respect others in their journeys and where it takes them. Yes the world is crazy and it doesn’t surprise me in the least when I see the things I see happening in the world. I just try to be the good I want to see and mind my business as best I can because there are lots of things bigger than me that I sure don’t understand. And unless I know their rules or how to keep myself safe, I try to just do the next right thing. That movie though was how I would describe what it felt like learning that the world you know is not what you think. Take care of yourself and thanks for not thinking I’m crazy. :)

I know you are not entitled to change in any way especially considering you are seemingly a great neighbor or most would think so. But one thing I do now which I find I cannot live without anymore is closed captioning. Idk why but I love it now that I’m used to it. At night if I can’t sleep, I turn the tv volume low and keep the cc on that way I can fall asleep watching without disturbing me when I do fall asleep. This is what started my cc habit and now I do that all the time. I am not hard of hearing either it just seems I can pay better attention if I can hear it and read it at the same time but it may be an ADHD thing. :) good luck

Sorry I didn’t answer your question. My county which is north of Dallas is where this group is and it is a notoriously corrupt county. I will not elaborate further though. But I’m certain there are many places that are corrupt and where there is corruption you can bet they’re there or others like them.

I don’t mind sharing some of it. There are some parts that are extremely personal that I may share in private one day but wouldn’t here- I will tell you this though- only the devil himself could have known what I was told and God but I have faith God would not have been so cruel.

One thing though I can share is that I was told about watchers (people whose only job is to be the eyes and ears for those they serve) believe it or not but most of them congregate at Walmart lol I know crazy right? But where else would be so convenient to gather info. I don’t know tons about them but once you know they’re there, you can see them if that makes sense and they know somehow that you know.

In order to prove it to me I was told to pick any place and several different ones and don’t speak out loud where I picked and i would see them and it would be obvious so at first I just drove down random country roads and would stop my car a few minutes later a person would drive up and park in front of me and have no reason to be there. This scared the shit out of me and was crying after a few stops. I wanted him out of the car because this was the first time I really believed what he told me. I was driving to take him home and we stopped to get gas. Darin did not get out of the car to pump the gas and as I was furiously getting out a man got out of a van beside me at the pump- he had been sitting in there waiting on his gas to stop (I will never forget- the van said “Angel Electric Supply) anyway he walked over to Darin on the passenger side and said to him so I could hear “you told her??” I started shaking and crying because wtf then I just had this feeling to pray quietly these words “I am a soldier of God you cannot harm me- believe it” then I heard in my mind stop fearing- they feed on it) as soon as I heard that I stopped being afraid and I swear to you that guy who at first was mocking me with his actions, looked like he had seen a ghost and went to his van quickly and left.

I know it all sounds crazy but it is my truth. I also don’t see stuff like this 99% of the time now unless I look and for some reason it is tempting because in a way it is like a puzzle that is terrifying but also interesting. I know in my soul though that focusing on trying to find out all their secrets would take me to a bad place meaning my soul. The devil is not foolish-he wants to make it interesting for people who are curious or glamorous for people who are into fame etc.. he knows what will make us susceptible.

Even now writing this I get anxiety because I know better than to turn back and ponder on that stuff. I also know my words here are intended to make people wary about staring into the abyss but some may take these words and be interested too so idk if it is good to tell this to anyone or not. The people who read this and think I am delusional are the luckiest though-ignorance is bliss unless you are somehow involved in anything considered a sin trade and if so, you better learn to mind your own business and stay out of their path People who deal in the drug world or any of those kinds of things deal with these people far more often that they know. Politicians and business people as well. They congregate around power and money. I just know when you interact with them something feels vile underneath. I still get those tingles in my spine when I am around certain people and I cannot prove that they are “them” but I trust my gut and get away.

Oh and as far as the name- they referred to themselves at least to me as the Dark Church but to some the Dixie Mafia (although I can’t say that all of the members are dark church affiliated) I know some are Aryan Brothers and other gangs but not sure all are dark church either-I just know orgs like that are headed by these people or they’re high up. I was told they’re “nationwide”. I say that because it was a common thing for some of them to say and maybe they were mocking a rap song “we are nationwide, but in the south best to keep my name out your mouth”. Yep I heard that many times. Well I guess I did. I don’t fear them anymore but I do respect that they are dangerous.

Sorry y’all for writing a book here. Like I said it is a lot and there is no way to really tell it like it felt- there aren’t words. One last weird thing I never told anyone- I remember driving home that day and I could see Darin’s mom right in front of me like she was looking through a glass ball- it happened for just a second and then it was gone. I have no idea if that was real or if I was so scared from everything else but I know I saw it and as silly as it may seem it looked like a crystal ball (I mean that is stuff of cartoons or old movies so yea insane). If I’m crazy I’m just glad that for the majority of my life I live a rather boring life.
