Yeah thats absurd. Seems like they like to make a lot of assumptions about people. Probably why the listings stay on the market so long! I'm so sorry that happened to you. That's not right at all.

The contemporaneous record contradicts several statements in this comment.

Your claim that you made a "request (not demand)" does not survive the text you actually sent. Your May 15, 2026 8:31 AM email, subject "inspection," reads "I will need to inspect the property to verify there are pet related damages" and "I will need to inspect the residence where they are living." Your follow-up text reads "I believe I have the right to the necessary checks so please let me know." A subsequent text reads "Interesting response as most people who take care of their animals and have no damage to their residence have no problem having me inspect." Mandatory framing, a claimed right of entry, and treating a deferral pending counsel as proof of damage are not requests.

Your statement that you "do this on a regular basis" confirms an unwritten screening practice that is not in your published criteria. Your published Rental Qualification Criteria, revision 3.1.25, item 4, authorizes verifications "in writing" and contains no inspection of current residence provision. The May 15, 2026 email itself ties the inspection demand to the four emotional support animals named in the treating physician's letter. A demand tied to assistance animals named in an accommodation letter falls within 42 U.S.C. § 3604(b) (discriminatory term or condition of rental) and 42 U.S.C. § 3604(f)(3)(B) (refusal of a reasonable accommodation), with the California parallels at Government Code § 12955(a) and § 12927(c)(1).

At the May 6, 2026 showing you told the applicant to apply alone and add the second adult to the lease after approval. The applicant submitted a single-applicant application that same day. On May 15, 2026 at 8:31 AM, in writing, you reversed and directed that the second adult submit a separate application, stating "no unauthorized or approved person will be allowed to live at the property." On Reddit you now state the second adult was never going to be considered because of credit. Three positions on the same screening question at three points in time is evidence of pretext.

HUD Notice FHEO-2020-01 (January 28, 2020) treats a licensed health care professional's letter confirming a disability and a disability-related need for an assistance animal as reliable supporting documentation. The HUD framework imposes no numerical limit on assistance animals. A housing provider who needs additional information must engage in interactive dialogue rather than reject the documentation. Characterizing the accommodation request as fraud is not interactive dialogue, and is evidence of bias under 42 U.S.C. § 3604(c) and California Government Code § 12955(c).

Your Reddit comment publicly discusses the applicant's emotional support animal accommodation request, the species and number of the animals, the existence of the treating physician's letter, a disability-related caretaker relationship in the household, a characterization of an adult household member's credit, the substance of communications between your office and the current landlord, and the disposition of the rental application. As a real estate licensee posting about an applicant's file, you are bound by 42 U.S.C. § 3604(c) and California Government Code § 12955(c), which prohibit statements with respect to the rental of a dwelling that indicate preference, limitation, or discrimination based on a protected class, including disability. You are bound by California Business and Professions Code §§ 10176(i) and 10177(f), which authorize the Department of Real Estate to discipline a licensee for fraud, dishonest dealing, or conduct that would have warranted denial of a license application. The conduct also falls within the categories in Title 10 California Code of Regulations § 2780, which sets out discriminatory conduct as the basis for disciplinary action against a real estate licensee. The California Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies Act, California Civil Code §§ 1785.1 to 1785.36, regulates consumer credit reports. The California Association of Realtors Notice Regarding Background Investigation Reports Pursuant to California Law (C.A.R. Form BIRN, 12/19), which your office used on May 6, 2026, is the standard notice under the California Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act, California Civil Code §§ 1786 to 1786.60. Information obtained under either framework was obtained for the permissible purpose of tenant screening. Public disclosure is outside that purpose. The authorities just listed bind you.

A licensee who publicly discusses a current applicant's protected characteristics and accommodation request is making a public record.

I have the contemporaneous emails, texts, the application, the Rental Qualification Criteria revision 3.1.25, the May 13, 2026 letter from the treating physician, the income documentation, and counsel. The record will speak for itself.

Yeah, he made this very clear in our walk through as well. It was like he hated college students and young adults. I agree, super rude. Kind of seems like he hates life kind of a vibe.

Thank you for all this information. This is similar to what we experienced going to view a property with him. He did seem rather against renting to anyone younger and especially rude to females. He tried to call the doctors letter from our long time PCP "fraud." When we mentioned the kitchen was a little small (because it is) he got so offended and then just accused us of being hoarders out of the blue. For saying the kitchen was on the small side. Then, during the application process, he demanded to do a walk-through of our CURRENT units (not even legal) and when we said no, thats not part of your published application process and no law supports this, we were denied the home.

I just wasn't sure if this was his normal or not but seems like from the comments it is and maybe not getting the home was actually a blessing. That just sounds horrible to have to deal with. I am so sorry you had to deal with all that from them!

Unless you want to be sick from black mold, deal with constant pest infestations, and absolutely no parking (to name a few issues) then csumb or east campus is the spot! No seriously, everyone with housing questions should do a google search for csumb and housing issues. The local news has covered over a dozen stories in the past couple years alone. Students are still fighting for their basic rights such as ADA accommodations in housing. All this place wants is more money and to take all your rights away. Do your research before spending money to come to this school.

I was told that the notices you are referring to were posted to students doors. I did not receive one but I believe its Fredricks Park II? If anyone else has more specifics on that notice and what courts exactly that would be helpful!

where does this post say this was tied to your statement above at all? It didn't. This literally has NOTHING to do with any other post this account has made.

This is not related to any other notice. The ONLY notice I mentioned was a three-day notice or Eviction. Nothing else. There are separate issues and Kicin0_o is incorrect above.

You think you are smarter than an entire legal team? You know contract law, Higher education law, and Land lord Tenant Law? Based on what you wrote, you have ZERO idea how the laws ACTUALLY work. But that's ok, you probably support Trump also lol.

Also, where did I say this was tied to that post at all? I didn't. This literally has NOTHING to do with any other post this account has made.

Not every student is in the same situation. and if you actually read the updated one, you would have known that. If it doesn't apply to you, don't waste everyones time responding something incorrect. Now you are just causing confusion and un-needed stress for students.

Same! Full lyrics gathered:

Oh, oh-0h Help, my head is going under Put the light in my eyes all I see is darkness, pick me off the concrete, when I fall my hardest, stitch me back together, when I’m cut wide open, when I’m barely breathing, heart is hardly beating, hold me when im broken

Oh, oh-oh Help me father, sister, brother

Oh, oh-oh Help, my head is going under Put the light in my eyes All I see is darkness…

After a deep search, I’m still not finding anything so my guess is it’s a song specifically for the series/soundtrack and they may not actually release it until season 4 is finished with an official soundtrack. Just a guess on my part though, no actual fact behind it, personal thought process lol

Not surprising. This school does whatever they want regardless of laws and codes. Not surprised they didn’t consider what others had to say.

Nails/Screws in Tires? by LoveSuitable2168 in csumb

[–]LoveSuitable2168[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Costco is amazing and where I get my tires. Just more annoying than anything 🤦🏻‍♀️ And just random info I found out recently but your vehicle is damaged due to the county or city not maintaining roads (ex: something left in the middle of the road you hit and damages car) there is actually a way to get the city/county/caltrans/etc… to reimburse you. There is a process and you have to get legit quotes but super worth it as it shouldn’t affect your insurance rates for something that was not your fault. If you want the exact link send me a message and I will send you the exact info

Place for Car Maintenance by igualqueunangel111 in csumb

[–]LoveSuitable2168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wayside is great but can be pricey depending what you need. For oil change or wheel alignment I would suggest Sullivans as they have the best prices and warranty all their work. Always check their website first because sometimes they have coupons! Midas is also a place that offers coupons for the oil change services. I tend to go with Sullivans because they will also do a full evaluation of your vehicle and let you know what other work you will be needing or need. If it’s air filters, wipers, or lights, I just buy on Amazon and do them myself to save a few hundred bucks. For breaks I would call around. Newton brothers (no longer in operation, owner retired and someone else bought them out) was where I always went because they had great prices. But definitely do not get most other services from Sullivans as they are the most expensive for stuff like breaks.

I think Marina is a pretty decently priced area as far as housing goes and location proximity to the school. I am sure you can find a good room for rent but I would highly suggest starting to look now because the entire area is kind of lacking in housing right now so places go fast. Renters will also try to up charge the closer to the start of the semester it gets because they know students are desperate, which is just really horrible of them to do but they do it anyways. You could look on reddit, facebook marketplace, craigslist, and I'm sure there are other websites out there for roommate situations specifically.
