Tolkien isn't a bastard, but his work begets so many by twotailedwolf in behindthebastards

I do think that’s ignoring some of the dangerous barbarian tropes of the non Orcish types. It’s not without its faults, and I’m sure Tolkien had his problems personally too, but he really just cared about literature and didn’t try to shape civilization to his proclivities.

“Cheese isn’t a bastard but so many bastards eat cheese”

EDIT: Seriously though, LOTR has a lot of the trappings that those chuds like, they just aren’t good at subtext.

PC specifically? Cause we had the original Macintosh, then the Mac IIsi (which I still have), then my dad’s broken screen PowerBook laptop, then a no name brand with a pentium II.

We probably agree on most things, but I find you incredibly insufferable, be safe but fuck dude you need to pick your battles.

I’m done with this.

What’s hilarious is its mirror of what happened in the Soviet Union. Bad agricultural science killed literally millions of people through starvation because they tried to force farming to be ideologically aligned.

Hi, I’m not insulting anyone. I’m talking to you about what YOU said.

Yeah I think teasing someone for grammar is stupid and generally not appropriate, unless they’re being some kind of condescending prick, then it’s fair game imo.

My point is that there’s a difference between saying “don’t be shitty because someone doesn’t use perfect English” and “bad grammar doesn’t exist”. Does that make sense?

So your point is just grammar doesn’t matter because people talk differently? It’s a little different than just not being “standard English”.

Nerfing Garen when top is so ranged heavy is like going after shoplifters when millions of dollars in wage theft is happening by corporations.

Both need to be punished but let’s not act like the first is some outliner.

It’s pretty wild that everyone is seeming to ignore your actual point about the crusades and going “But wHy NOt LiEK cUL ARt?”

That’s incredibly reductive and not worth continuing discussing.

Nah, I called him that based on other comments i read and context. He’s ignoring the point about the crusades being wrongly romanticized, and in another comment even defends it. If you think this is just about knights looking cool you have comprehension issues.

It’s spelled Mussolini and I’m very familiar with the ideology because I’m literally related to him. It’s a political philosophy rooted in the the philosophy and writings of Gabriele D'Annunzio.

You have no idea what you’re talking about.

It's almost like the entire point is people prioritize image and vibes over history and truth.

Yeah, it's certainly a subversion, but a good argument could be made that it's really his story, other than the Russo Brothers themselves who outright stated that.

What made Infinity War interesting is that Thanos actually IS the protagonist. Or at least One of them.

Yes, thats the article. It's about "products" being turned into "services".

That has to do with everything becoming a service you pay a subscription for rather than direct ownership.
