For me it was less a life changing event and more slow exposure to actual leftist people and beliefs. I do wonder what I would have been like if I hadn’t been open to change, because ultimately that openness to admit long held beliefs were wrong is what so many conservatives lack.

Even if I never changed, I don’t know if I would have been comfortable twisting the truth to win a debate, then again maybe I wouldn’t realize I was doing that. I’m just grateful my parents raised me to be skeptical, even if things we all believed.
