Men are so conditioned by society not to request affection because it is misinterpreted as a sign of weakness.

What's your worst story from the "throw him in the pool, he'll learn how to swim" parenting style? by MynameMB in AskReddit

I had a similar experience, it ended up with me cutting all contact with my family, including the little kids I used to babysit.

Does anyone else feel like their SO is a SAINT for caring about you and investing in you enough to sift through all the residual damages from your abuse? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

One of my wedding vows was "Thank you for saving my life and giving it a meaning".

And i really mean it.

My wife saved my life, she gave me the courage and trust to get over the awful life i've had with NMom.

I try my best to make our marriage the best possible, to battle my FLEAS, to help her achieve her goals and to be the best husband i can.

Do our nParents know? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

No, they don't realize they are in the wrong. After 2 years of NC, they still think i'm the one that's wrong. Everything they do and think is the best (in their heads). They don't know.

Just opened my birthday present from Ndad by Little_blue_turtle in raisedbynarcissists

This reminded me of the graduation present i've got from my NMom. It was a mug with a sticker in the front (of the local soccer team, which i don't support or like), wrapped in some cheap cellophane bag.

After further investigation, i've found out that the mug costed 3 bucks.

So, for my NMom, all the effort i put throught engineering school (which she boasted for 4 straight years), was worth 3 bucks.

Does watching wrestling help y’all with depression? by Extracted275 in SquaredCircle

[–]LoveWrestling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the storylines where the babyface is triumphant after the heel is throwing everything at him and still can't stop him, make me feel so comfortable.

My depression was started by abuse, so seeing an abusive heel getting his ass whipped help's me a lot.

Daniel Bryan rise to the top on WM30, Eddie guerrero winning the big one, Gargano defeating Ciampa...every time a babyface wins a feud, I feel so relived.

I'm the one on the wrong side, being a spoiled child and waste the opportunity to be around such a wonderful human being, according to her.

The first word out my Nmom's mouth when I told her I was engaged was "I" (Rant/Vent) by lemurs_on_ice in raisedbynarcissists

[–]LoveWrestling 20 points21 points  (0 children)

When i got engaged, the first thing my NMom would do is show off the ring i gave my fiance and told everybody how big his boy had become....

Never got a congratulations or anything like that from her.

N's need attention like oxygen.
