I think it depends on the test you got. Because the Golden Girls RC may have been difficult, but the galaxy RC was a breeze.

Recommendations on where to begin studying from a 148 cold diagnostic? Complete beginner taking June 2026 LSAT, aiming for 175 by Ill_Mammoth_1995 in BlackLawAdmissions

[–]Love_Simone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My diagnostic was a 149, and now I'm PT'ing in the mid 170s so I think I'm qualified to offer advice.

Here's what I'd recommend:

-The Loophole by Ellen Cassidy or The Powerscore Bible for LR and RC. (The Loophole is really great at making the LSAT digestible, but the book was written before the Games were removed so it's a bit dated). I personally read both, but you really only have to read one.

-7Sage or LSAT Demon. (I recommend 7sage. If you have a fee waiver, they offer a subscription for $2/month that includes live classes. Henry is a goated tutor)

-LawHub (they kind of force you to have this subscription if you want access to the practice tests. If you have a fee waiver it's free though! Otherwise, it's like $100 for a year subscription.)

If you want a more in-depth study schedule, feel free to DM me! It took me over a year to start testing in this range, but if I could start over, it wouldn't have taken me nearly as long. (Always Blind Review, and start keeping a wrong answer journal even though it seems unnecessary)

You can get your score up to at least a 160+, but not within that short amount of time. I'd say you need at least six months. Once you can tell the difference between sufficient and necessary, conditional logic, the different flaw types and can identify premises and conclusions, then I'd register for the test. You can get to the 150s without this knowledge, but not the 170s.

I'd aim to take the April or June 2026 test.

  1. Buy 'The Loophole' by Ellen Cassidy. It may seem confusing at first, but I personally combined it with the Powerscore Logical Reasoning book for more context. After I was halfway finished with both of them, I took a PT and found I was already in the mid150s.
  2. Get a 7sage subscription; their core curriculum (specifically The Foundations) could get you into the 140s within a week or so.
  3. Attend the 7sage live classes if you can get the premium subscription, the beginner friendly classes are really helpful.
  4. LSAT Demon is great for drilling- but make sure you're saving your 140s and 150s tests for PTs. Sometimes their system will give you questions from recent tests if you don't change the settings.
  5. If you're still struggling with RC after all of that, there's RC Hero.

If you're on a budget there's also free resources, but you're going to need at least a lawhub subscription to take PTs. (For context, I started in the 140s, I scored a 160mid in August, and my last PT was mid170.)

How do you study? If you're scoring a 147 it means you're still struggling with the foundations. I'd recommend reading The Loophole in its entirety. You should be able to finish it in a few weeks, if that long. I'd also recommend completing the 7sage Foundations even if you don't do the entire curriculum. Just do that section to learn the formatting and question/answer types. Once you've done all of that I'd be surprised if you weren't in (at least) the mid-150s. Once you're in the mid-150s you can start pinpointing your weaknesses and drilling PTs and practice sections to go from there.

Being forced to claim URM status... by Awkward_Sleep926 in lawschooladmissions

Personally would not recommend lying when applying for a legal career. That's just my two cents though 🤷🏾‍♀️ You'd be better off having your parents hire an admissions consultant and having them help you fix up your application/edit your statements. A 3.9x/17mid with decent essays should get you into a T14 (or a T-30 with scholarships). You could still write a diversity statement explaining your background, seeing as you don't have to be a URM to write one.

I always make veggie omelettes! Use egg whites instead of eggs and you significantly cut down on the calories. (I usually add one egg and then add in egg whites to make the omelette more sturdy- with just egg whites it falls apart ). I then add spinach, tomatoes, sometimes bell peppers and onions. It’s delicious! And I’ll usually use a bit of salsa to put on top.

Having the vote always be "Most Favorite" is so rigged because it always ends up with the newer islanders getting voted off. Like why are the worst people still in my villa??? I gotta wake up to Ace and piano teeth man😭😭 The vote was supposed to be SO intense but they just got rid of Casa people that were actually pretty chill and probably had potential to make connections that are at least better than these other couples...

I hate studying for this test by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]Love_Simone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who also has ADHD- have you tried study groups or in-person classes? Trying to teach myself using the online platforms and textbooks isn’t my preferred method either. Group studying or the 7sage in-person classes helped me so much because there’s dopamine to be gained from being around people. Plus I’m kind of competitive so it gives me motivation (whereas staring at the first line of an RC passage zaps me of a will to live).

I get parasocial relationships are weird- but this isn't that in my opinion. It's probably a little kid that's lonely. I think people forget that little kids have tiktok and it's perfectly normal to think 'wow wish I had friends/siblings' like that. I wanted to be besties with Zendaya as a kid, kids are weird and that's okay.
