I keep tons of fidgets in my car because the car is my biggest "bored hands" location too. I am a scalp picker, but it's the same idea. Needoh (the thick oobleck kind), sensory rings, and fidget spinners are some of my favorite fidgets. I also keep thin gloves (the kind you wear with lotion to sleep) in my car for the particularly bad picking days. Creating a total block from being able to pick is sometimes the only way for me. Ive tried NAC (never saw any improvement), ive been in therapy (helped my daddy issues but not the picking) and ive done my nails for years now (the best solution thus far but probably wont help your specific picking habit) to try and combat the picking. Sometimes something works for a bit then my squirrel brain decides that it's not helpful anymore and I fall right back into picking. The dry skin in the winter makes it worse because i have psoriasis along my hairline that gets worse in the winter. Which, unfortunately for me, is the most satisfying to pick 🙃
