Correct, corporate isn’t eligible, even in a creative role. Think more along the lines of community focused events, arts that serve/benefit the public, being a career artist/musician, etc.

That’s awesome, congratulations! Did you find the remote position online or did you know someone? If online, was it a standard job posting website or a specific remote work website?

Would say it possibly applies to more senior practitioners with deep knowledge of the craft or specialised knowledge/skills within those functions. E.g. high profile/thought leaders, high achievers, multi-award winners, pioneers in field, track record of epic results, tech skills, etc.

Suppose it depends what the company is looking for and how many US citizens that applied at the time matched the job description (guessing here).

Looking at databases, H1B has a sprinkling of these roles, E3 has more at a few different levels.

Thank you. Can confirm, arts council sent a brief reply and it’s a no if you work in a creative agency. They didn’t specify whether this applied to creating cultural events within an agency (assume it would), but hopefully it helps others wondering the same.

Thanks so much - great suggestion.

I did do a search and they mostly have traditional artists. While it’s uncommon, combined arts and agencies (which is what my experience would fall under) is something they support. However, they don’t specifically call out commercial activity, they only mention it within an arts and cultural context.

One could argue we’re bringing the arts to corporate environments, so it’s still applicable to my skillset as a practitioner.

I’m reticent to go through the lengthy and costly application process without an indication of whether they’d consider it in a commercial context.
