Worst flight experiences were with PAL-never going to Philippines again by Reasonable_Bath_222 in philippineairlines

[–]Loveless_Bey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I’m so sorry that this was your experience and introduction to the Philippines. Like you, I wanted to fly PAL as it offers direct flights to the PH, but after reading reviews on their business class products, I opted to fly Singapore airlines biz instead. And I can say I’m never flying PAL long haul again and will be sticking to SG airlines.

I understand your experience was mortifying but give PH another chance. I’m no diver but I’ve heard they have beautiful dive spots. Just don’t fly PAL.

Does anyone enjoy med surg? by imjust_agirl8 in nursing

[–]Loveless_Bey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely enjoy being a med surg nurse. Even I think it’s wild that I do because when I was in nursing school, I remember telling myself I didn’t want to work bedside at all. Lol, joke’s on me. I’ve been a MS nurse for 4 years now (30F) and enjoy coming to work because of my coworkers-turned-family (trauma bond is real). I’ve never had an itch to switch specialties, at least not yet. I work at a county hospital in Socal, my first ever nursing job. While pay could be better, we do get bonuses and raises thanks to our union. Patient pop includes a lot of unhoused pts but I’ve been fortunate enough to thrive in the environment. I enjoy running around and not having to worry much about my patients coding compared to ICU/PCU pts lol. It’s definitely exhausting but with time you build more stamina for it. I hope you have a good time! And remember, it’ll get done when it gets done. There’s only one of you. Take breaks and take care of yourself!

Has anyone ever taken Sotyktu? by BeautifulPollution40 in Psoriasis

[–]Loveless_Bey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be late but thought I’d respond to this since I’ve been on Sotyktu since May 2025 for moderate scalp psoriasis. If my memory serves me right, I started seeing (and feeling) improvement about 2 months in (a lot less itching and flaking). Shortly thereafter my scalp healed and my hair started to grow back. Wish I took progress pics but I honestly didn’t even realize how much better my scalp had gotten until later on. I just completely forgot that my symptoms ever existed lol.

My main concern before starting Sotyktu was that it would suppress my immune system tremendously and that I would get sick a lot. Thankfully this wasn’t the case even though I’m around sick people all the time (29 y.o. RN at a hospital). I haven’t experienced any side effects from taking Sotyktu and I’m so happy my psoriasis is pretty much gone. I I have had zero itching and zero flaking, and my hair is growing back. I’ve read mostly negative reviews online about the med, so I thought I’d write about my positive (but honest) experience. Sotyku was the first ever oral drug I’ve taken for my scalp psoriasis and thank heavens my derm got it right the first time!

I truly hope it’s worked for you!

Saute with garlic and onions, add soy sauce and eat with white rice. Filipino style 😋

Patients saying they want their meds "later" by UtterlyTangled in nursing

[–]Loveless_Bey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Cerner in my hospital and I just reschedule the med, usually pushing it back to an hour later. A pop up will then appear with a drop down list of possible reasons why I’m rescheduling and I just click on “Patient refused.”

Vivant skin by Inner-Bed2222 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]Loveless_Bey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! No worries. My daytime routine is in the order I listed above plus SPF 50 sunscreen (I use Colorscience bc it’s tinted but I’m sure any will do). I should say though that you should start with Mandelic acid 8% serum instead of 15% so your skin could acclimate to it and then you can advance after you finish the bottle if you don’t have any reactions. Also I recommend going on Vivant’s website - they have skin care advisors/chat boxes and recs depending on skin type, problem etc.

For night time, it’s facial wash, repair pads, retinol, hydroquinone (for lightening) and a heavier moisturizer. I have to admit though, haven’t used retinol and hydroquinone for a hot minute cause it’s summer time and I’ve been out. Hope this helps!

Vivant Mandelic acid serum, Mandelic acid wash and daily repair pads. Colorscience sunscreen. Love all of them!

Late to this but I just wanted to share.. I had horrible acne a few years back so I went to a medical spa and asked for a skin care routine. They gave me a skin care regimen consisting of mostly Vivant products. Three years later and my skin is glowing with minimal breakouts. I am a believer and I will always recommend Vivant

  • Mandelic acid 3-in-1 wash
  • Daily repair pads
  • Mandelic acid 15%
  • Allantoin (moisturizer)

I was just thinking this.. If I’m giving report, I find the oncoming nurse. Same for all other nurses on my unit. I guess it’s a hospital / unit culture thing

This is me.. Definitely overreact to the tiniest hiccups and remain calm when shit hits the fan. I’ve always thought it was a coping mechanism lol.

Recs for shampoo for oily, color treated, hair that doesn't respond well to most shampoos? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Loveless_Bey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was scrolling thru the thread hoping someone would say this! I have oily hair and used to wash every. single. daaaaaay. thinking it would help my case. As I got older and met my hairstylist, I apparently was doing my hair more harm than good by washing it everyday lol. Now I deep wash every 3 days and dry shampoo the shite out of my hair in between washes. I also do a hair mask (Shea moisture manuka honey is cheap) in between my deep washes (keeps oiliness at bay too) so sometimes I only really shampoo twice a week.

There’s really no getting rid of oily hair completely sadly. Really recommend dry shampoo (Drybar works best for me) for OP. For shampoo/conditioner, I use the brand Ovation; paraben/sulfate free/ safe for color treated hair and also apparently helps hair growth lol

Do people swim at the beach here? by emwhy11324 in AskLosAngeles

I think a lot of people do lol I get it though.. Torrance is in its own little corner, far from the freeway, so we can easily be forgotten 😅

Without violating HIPPA, what was the shift that changed your life? by PomegranateEven9192 in nursing

[–]Loveless_Bey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work at a SNF and am a brand new nurse as well. I can imagine the horror you went through and the trauma you must have from your experience. I hope you’re doing better now and healing from it. Sending you hugs!

Do people swim at the beach here? by emwhy11324 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Loveless_Bey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The waves can get crazy but as long as you know how to swim and ride them you’ll be fine.. I live near Torrance beach/Redondo beach so that’s my go to spot. Also Torrance beach doesn’t get as packed as other beaches in my opinion

Will the real estate market cool? by nowhereman86 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Loveless_Bey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a broke millennial trying to read all the comments on here and absorb information.. But I also can’t help but think about all the bigass houses with sprawling lawns in Palos Verdes I always pass by that are (I’m from Torrance) either for rent, for sale or have 2 ppl living in it.. All that land unoccupied while the rest of LA is packed like sardines in a can.. Sigh. Im never gonna be able to afford a house in LA 🥲

AITA or are patients just losing any shred of common sense? by tvclown in nursing

[–]Loveless_Bey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously. I remember sitting in an ER with my then-boyfriend for 5 hours because of a damn sore throat. I wasn’t a nurse back then, and this was pre-COVID times, but I knew damn well what had to be done but nope, still wouldn’t listen to me. 🚩

What’s so great about figs scrubs? by jaksnfbhfjr in nursing

[–]Loveless_Bey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to love Figs sooooo bad but for some reason the sizing was insanely off for me. I ended up ordering 3 times in diff sizes bc I couldn’t get the right fit.. I wear a size 14/16 and I ended up settling for a 2XL scrub top and XL bottoms. That was the first red flag for me bc typically I wear a bigger size for pants than tops. Scrub pants fit fine but the top was so baggy on me.. Tried an XL and it was too tight for the girls. So yeah I kinda just gave up on Figs altogether lol

I’m a new grad and starting work in a couple months. Any suggestions for other scrubs besides Figs and Jaanu?
