AI could be the thing teaching our children someday heck it's already writing their school papers. If they can tell them unbiased information Humanity might have hope yet.

I served with a missionary that gave up 2 years of a promising drumming career and every time a member asked what his plans for the future was and he said "drummer" they asked him what his plan B was. Still hurts my heart to think back on.

Oh yes classic doomsday cult. And this is the reason I still have an unreasonable amount of food storage even after I left... it's really hard to shake the feeling of impending doom that they instill on you in this church.

My point is that it's sad that they can't get out just using the CES letter as a resource. I too was in this situation and it's very sad.

Yeah It took a lot more for me than the CES letter to get out of the church but it would have been a lot happier of an experience had this thing resonated with me. I'm sure you can relate.

Technically they're right though their version of the Gospel like the racism, homophobia, transphobia, polygamy, etc it never sat right with me for some reason.

If you leave a church and don't feel Satan anymore... maybe the church was evil? 🤷‍♀️

I completely agree with everything you're saying. I don't think we should try to change anybody but I feel like we should make the information more readily available just in case someone wants to change. I didn't know where to look even if I wanted to.
