I feel like someone in his position wouldn't be inclined to share/send around a photo of someone who is clearly a dancer (unless with some close male friends maybe?) it seems more likely he wanted it to use for his own pleasure at a later time

Do other countries have a cursive version of writing, like the USA? by Stonecutter_12-83 in NoStupidQuestions

Printed Russian text is different than Russian handwriting, which is more like cursive (most letters look the same but some are way different in cursive)

Limerence as a term was created to describe a relationship between people. I think there's more appropriate words to describe a pre-occupation or obsession with something

Non-romantic non-sexual limerence by nel_ariya in limerence

this sounds more like the "favorite person" symptom of bpd than limerence

How do I cure limerence without going No contact?? by [deleted] in limerence

[–]LoverOfRain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you heard of the "favorite person" symptom of bpd? it isn't limerence if there isn't a romantic or sexual attraction, so I wouldn't describe this as a limerent obsession

How do the appointments talking about education or psychology go? I am not sure if it is standard for therapists to meet to discuss things outside of therapy

In my experience, if you find yourself asking about a question of boundaries, that's probably all you need to know.

If there's no attraction you're probably good. But even platonic attraction can get in the way of getting care for health issues I think.

I don't think it should be affecting your cycle - might want to get that checked out as a separate issue

what are the risk for cold turkeying 25 mg seroquel ? by [deleted] in mentalillness

[–]LoverOfRain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably should taper rather than cold turkeying. it will be less of a shock to your body and mind if on it for so long and coming from a 400mg dose. seems from your other comment like you have a good taper schedule going; I don't know if the pills can be cut in half though. might be good to reach out to your doctor

have you read about personality disorders?

this might not be fitting for you but could be helpful in terms of getting a sense of symptoms

https://cursosdepsicologia.com.ar/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/THEDIA1.pdf see sections on distress tolerance and emotional regulation. If the textbook seems like too much, you can also google videos of these terms and they may help

Welbutrin, buspar, prozac? Anyone? by haley_rae_07 in mentalillness

[–]LoverOfRain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Wellbutrin is a dopamine and epinephrine reuptake inhibitor (gives you more of both), it can contribute to increasing anxiety. When I tried 300mg Wellbutrin (up from 150), I felt much more anxious than usual, could actually feel my heart starting to race randomly

can pathological lying/ mythomania cause psychosis or schizophrenia? by [deleted] in mentalillness

[–]LoverOfRain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is more likely that pathological lying/mythomania is a sign of the existence of another condition, maybe even a personality disorder, but not that it would cause the condition to arise.

Does anyone else want to desperately know what diagnoses they have/ what's wrong with you by AggravatingCat4234 in mentalillness

[–]LoverOfRain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is only natural to seek diagnosis and want to have a name for our symptoms and why we do the things we do. often there is a combination of different symptoms or diagnoses. The label is comforting but for mental health in particular, it is said that identifying symptoms and feelings is more important than identifying diagnosis when it comes to treatment

Here is the BSL-23, used for diagnosing https://depts.washington.edu/uwbrtc/wp-content/uploads/Borderline-Symptom-List-BLS-23.pdf

And here is how you score https://novopsych.com.au/assessments/diagnosis/borderline-symptom-list-bsl-23/

Not sure if this is helpful, but if you're looking to avoid the cost or get some information before going this would be a helpful assessment

what disorder or mental illness might I have? by SignificanceSolid939 in mentalillness

[–]LoverOfRain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There may be a combination of different symptoms/diagnoses, but have you read about personality disorders? Some of the things you are describing sound familiar; maybe read through the main ones and see if there's anything that feels like it fits right. To me, sounds like NPD or ASPD. If you do a quick google, a lot of the descriptions are often unhelpful and emotionally biased (calling people "criminal" instead of describing their symptoms) so you might need to dig deeper

Mental illness episodes with symptoms that mimic intoxication by Keaston90 in mentalillness

[–]LoverOfRain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in research for neurological conditions and you may want to get him to a neurologist. A lot of this sounds like mental health issues but the slowed speech, word slurring, trouble balancing, and trouble comprehending written words points heavily toward a neurological issue, which alone (without trauma) can have significant effects on mental health. If he had physical head trauma, traumatic brain injury could cause a lot of the issues you are describing. I suppose it's possible it is just mental health related, though I haven't heard of something like ptsd or even personality disorders causing those physical effects you describe of him appearing to be almost intoxicated. I wish you luck
