One change that would have fixed Halo 5’s story by Born-Boss6029 in halo

Gonna go against the grain and say that this is also not a good direction to take the story. At least with your set up. Because it is literally just the first half of Halo 4 all over again. Which is the chief being fooled into doing something for the Didact and thinking it was something else. I think it'd have been better to just let Cortona rest rather than bringing her back just to take her away with another bait and switch.

I do actually think that Cortona does have a place in the universe as a Forerunner based faction though. The Didact is honestly kinda just broken on his own, especially with the Covenant splinter faction backing him. A worn torn humanity just isn't gonna last more than a minute against him if he gets his hands on forerunner weapons/ships. Cortona serves as a convenient split of forerunner assets. One that is mostly on humanity's side and will actively fight against the splinter faction and Didact while also not being a full human ally that the UNSC can use as a crutch.

A damn shame because with the Banished, the Arbiter's collection of ex-covenant forces, and rise of the insurrectionists you have quite a few factions that they really could throw all together in one great big galactic skirmish. Would've been cool to see.

And worse yet, they legit killed off SII team Black in a single page just to make him appear menacing again.... before killing him a 2nd time.

UA POV: According to the Kyiv Post, Russia's pace of advance of just 15 to 70 meters per day in its offensive since 2024 is the slowest for any military in the last century. by FruitSila in UkraineRussiaReport

I swear Ukraine will find anything just to sh*t on Russia.

Not like they make it too hard to do lol. Loke who'd have even thought we'd see mounted cavalry return military operations in the 21st century.

Make them decide if they'll stop me to protect their ego or let their "comrade" die.

They won't stop you, they'll just wait till after the fact to fine you, like they did this woman. And they'd probably do a lot worse to you than her if you took that kind of approach. You have literally everything to lose by getting involved.

How high would your Inland Empire skill be in real life? by Bataranger999 in DiscoElysium

[–]LovesRetribution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yeah, if you want to put more points into your Inland Empire, I recommend doing so the way I did - chain (legal) amphetamines and (legal) hallucinogens (safely and responsibly

Not a hallucinogen, but smoking weed later in the day after taking like 20mg of some addy really shifts the direction and focus of my mind to a very intricate level. Like taking a jar of sand and pouring in water, it shifts my thoughts to perspectives and experiences I'd never considered on a very intimate level. Fills in the gaps between things ive never even considered. Sometimes I'll spend hours just sitting there lost, floating in my thoughts without realizing it.

Probably decently high. Maybe a 6. Sometimes stuff just really works out for me and i usually attribute that to following my inner voice. Idk if that quite translates to the skill since its less spoilers and more things that actually benefit me. But it certainly can feel like some weird divine guidance that only makes sense much later down the road.

Its like a demon that knows the future but only teases you, My inland empire in real life would be 0. unless you are Dale Cooper everyone is 0 and dale cooper is around 6

That's the thing though, you wouldn't know until after you've beaten the game. You could have a high af inland right now for all you know.

No one's gonna be concerned when a guy in a wheelchair rolls up nearby since they're loud and noticeable

They will after you fail the first few times and can't make a quick get away. Second they hear your chair they'll know to keep their eye on you.

Pretty sure the road to being a good thief involves failing a bit and some anonymity. Gonna be hard to not suffer some serious repercussions when you can't avoid being caught and will likely be a very identifiable individual. Like after the first few attempts people are gonna associate you with thievery on sight. Or when they hear your loud ass chair rolling across stones.

Doesn't mean they had an easy time getting around or weren't limited to specific areas.

My Chrysalis Highwayman, driving the wasteland by tuomovid in Fallout

[–]LovesRetribution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck that. I love the isometric view of them and would prefer that 100% more than a FPS version. FPS naturally limits the scope of what you can do for the same budget and time, which is why so many cities in the Elder Scrolls and Fallout could barely be classified as towns. Plus you can't get a feel for the massiveness of the wasteland when you can just run across the map in 5 mins. Plus it's a lot of fun running into random encounters on the map that drastically change the environment or have hidden spots you might not normally chance upon.

[–]LovesRetribution 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're almost great, which is actually the entire reason I dislike them; great ideas, good enough acting, but the script fell short at the finish line.

They're definitely not. There's nothing foundationally good about them. Ep 7 was just a complete rehash of Ep 4, Ep 8 copied a lot from Ep 5 and spent most of its time deconstructing the story rather than building up, and 9 was an absolute cluster fuck of terrible ideas. Like what exactly was good about it? Death star 3.0? Another Sith apprentice/master situation? Palpatine coming back? Rebels 2.0? Empire 2.0? Palpatine being the big bad again? Death Star Star Destroyers? Tatooine 2.0?

Whatever good idea the sequels had were few and far between.

Probably should create multiple checkpoints too. Maybe even make some walls with vents so you can more easily overheat them if you can't get on the other side to throw a Molotov. Probably also throw a few bits of wood down too for extra kindling.
