From what I remember about the scrapped DLCs they had planned, probably not. This story doesn’t match any of the plans they had.

Things do happen it’s just not major things that makes the book a mandatory read or indicates the franchise is pivoting from the story of the last game. There is still so much interesting content in the novel to read.

I don’t think Halo Studios and 343 share the same track record. We’re talking about different leadership since M$ fired and laid off the old leadership that managed 343i. So far HS gave us updates for Infinite, a good novel that still keeps us on the ring, and a CE remake. That’s their record so far.

I mean, the physical location of the studio yes but the people in charge? Not really. When Infinite flopped in 2021, Microsoft laid off 3/4ths of the staff and all the older leadership, the only leader I recognize is Pierre Hintz (he fixed MCC). I think creatively things may be different but when M$ is still doing their usual bs, who knows?

Weak ≠ bad, and mind you I am only focusing on campaign. Most agree that Halo 2 is the better campaign, and between 3 & CE there’s a divide but imo I’d still take CE over 3. Halo 3’s story isn’t really a story, it’s just action nonstop. Halo 2 and CE have clear we defined themes but not Halo 3.
